Chirinos just outran Odor. I think, I've been drinking during all this rain in Houston... but, freaking scoreboard *****es!
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

I just want to thank our neighbors to the North for the gift that keeps on giving. Props to your boy Rougned. He's a special kind of player.

All this horrible trash talk going on meanwhile Yordan went in dry to the tune of 454ft and Arlington is looking very much like the little league team that it is.

Yall are stuck with Odor for another 3 years, playing him 40 M.

Went about as expected. Oh yeah, Cole is up tomorrow.

The Arlington thread hasn't had a post in 2 days. But hey, the Cowboys are 2-0. So they got that going for them

Just to summarize the current state of the argument of "Who is better: Odor or Altuve?"

Altuve: .302/.360/.552, OPS+ 134, 28 HR, 40 BB, 77 SO
Odor: .204/.280/.432, OPS+ 78, , 27 HR, 47 BB, 165 SO, slower than Robbie Chirinos

The question isn't who's better. Its why are you paying Rat Face all that cash?

I've been an Astros fan all my life ... the killer Bs were my childhood. But it was hard to talk trash from 2009-2014. Which is why I never did. I wouldnt be caught in the crossfires of a thread like this out of fear of looking stupid

Which is why I'm surprised to see so many rangers fans still on this thread talking s**t
You see, the difference is we knew we sucked and had to rebuild. Arlington fans still think they're 1 good player away from being a contender.

I think I'd kill myself if my team was paying a boatload of cash to a rat face barely hovering over the Mendoza line, who has a brother who gives out handy's to teammates, and who only has said boatload of cash because he cold cocked Bautista.

That, boys and girls, is literally a clown show. Enjoy it!!

No we don't. We are years and potentially a change in GM away. And probably some luck. I don't support the new stadium build, but admit that it might give us a slightly better chance in the free agent market.

Regardless, we still follow our team even during the 60-70 win seasons.

MM Clone, Carpet, the current one is still pretty decent, and baseball is meant to be played outside!

Did I hit them all?

I'll just assume both of y'all go to games in April and May only. And then when the temps reach 100+ y'all stay at home. Actually you're both in Houston, and Farmer is an Astros fan who has an indoor stadium so not sure why one of your points is "baseball is meant to be played outdoors"

I was just hitting the talking points.

I like your new ballpark, minus the carpet.

The only one you missed is that public spending on sports stadiums and subsidizing billionaires is stupid.

Yes I'm in Houston. Actually, I took my son to his first Rangers game in August to properly start the brainwashing process.

Good. I'm sure he's going to really enjoy going to games in August in a climate-controlled environment in the middle of summer

I guess. He prefers playing outside and getting dirty over sitting in the AC watching an ipad.

Again, as I noted above, Texas has outdrawn Houston in a majority of the past 30+ years. Given that Texas has been, outside of a 7 year period, the poorer team during that time frame, I choose to believe this is a result of DFW people preferring to watch outdoor baseball.

If we would only close the roof to avoid rainouts and the brutal Sunday 2:00 PM first pitch, then I'm all for it.
Mr Gigem

People choose winning over everything. Sure, the new ballpark will draw large crowds in the first couple of years probably because it's a shiny new toy everyone wants to play with. But after the new car smell wears off, it will be back to performance.

That's how it is in the history of ever in sports.

But you're a fool to think the addition of a retractable will not have a direct impact on increased attendance

Are there rules set for the roof yet? Between X & Y degrees it'll be open?

Really? Since 1972, when the Rangers came into existence, each team had led in attendance 24 season. The 30 year window is convenient because it throws out the previous 11 year window where the Astros drew more every single season. I could just as easily say lets only look at the last 20 years. Since 2000 (when we moved into Enron/MMP), the Astros have led in attendance 12 times and will be 13 this season. The Rangers only 8, with your streak of 8 coinciding when your team was better. And that's total attendance in a stadium that seats 7000 more butts.

Not an Aggie, but I'm OK if he wants to go there. But between Baylor and the Rangers, I'm well conditioned to press on . . .

Good lord those are embarrassing numbers for the Rangers lineup. Any progress this year is overshadowed by our likely 6-13 record vs. Houston. And 5-14 vs. Oakland. If we could avoid those teams our record would be 63-55. If only . . .
