Clickbait headline title but I thought the proposed trade idea was interesting. What does everyone think of this?

Mavs receive: Peyton Watson (via sign-and-trade; three-year, $88.7 million contract), Christian Braun, AJ Green and a 2031 first round pick
Nuggets recieve: Max Christie, Dereck Lively II and a 2028 first round pick
Bucks receive: Daniel Gafford and Caleb Martin

no thanks. I like those players, but not to give up max, dereck and gaff....

I wouldn't absolutely hate it, but no thanks

That's my thought. I wouldn't want to give up both Lively and Gaff, and I think Christie and Braun may be kind of equivalent players.

It's strange because Mavs are giving up the youngest and cheapest players in the trade. Also taking on Braun's contract which is not a positive asset. I'd be very careful with taking and significantly paying anybody who has made their hay playing with Jokic.

Mavs are also gutting the center rotation in the trade. if the Mavs are getting older players on bigger contracts, we need to be keeping our center on his rookie deal.

I understand why the other teams do it, but I'm not sure Mavs are getting enough value in the trade. Any 3+ teamer where Mavs are getting AJ Green should involve Klay leaving, IMO. A roster with both of them makes no sense.

3-year, $52.2 million contract extension, sources tell ESPN. The fully guaranteed deal takes Marshall through the 2029-30 season in Dallas.

Really excited to see Naji in more of the role we signed him for. He's been good defensively, but there's a better defender in there. His offensive load should be reduced dramatically from what it's been for the majority of his two years here.

I also think he has the ability to be closer to an average shooter from what he's been.

Honestly not a bad deal. Get two seconds and get off $11 million.

Would be nice if we didn't get any players back, but honestly props to Masai for not demanding Vando lol.

That's tough. That man was responsible for my love of basketball. The way he saw the game was truly unique and the NBA was better for having him be a part of it. RIP. Also I hope the end of my life kicks as much ass as his did. Owning a weed farm on Maui is probably the ideal way to live the last chapter of your life lol.

That 2007 upset to GSW hurt so bad. They ruined our best regular season ever. They were the only team we didn't want to see in the playoffs at all and of course we get them in the first round. We even threw a game in Oakland the last week of the season to help the Warriors get in.

Baron Davis did barely anything before or since, but he Nellie got him and those band of misfits to play out of their minds for a week and send us home. The mavs under mark cuban were so arrogant and clueless at times that it was incredibly frustrating.

Nellie did help the Mavs get out of the basketball wilderness prior to this and he was definitely a really good coach. RIP

I think a lot of folks forget just how bad Dallas was in the 90s.

Imagine how different the Dallas Sports Landscape would look if he didn't hide a 7 footer from Wurzburg from the rest of the league.

This is a pretty brutal start to the schedule. Also the year starts with 2 road games and the first home game is against the Spurs on the 2nd night of a back to back.

Then gets relatively easy from mid December to mid January. The last 10 games of the season look pretty favorable.

Kirk Henderson pointed out that the vast majority of the non-national-TV home games start at 7 central now instead of 7:30. Really interesting switch.

I liked opening the season with the Spurs/Mavs game the last few years. I wish that was a set rivalry game, even though we are on slightly different timelines

If they hadn't tripped and fallen into getting Cooper, it would have been Bastille Day at the AAC. As it stands, Nico has been successfully scapegoated, though I would not be inclined to shake hands with Patrick Dumass.

Really seems like one of those situations where the player gets what he wants for the sole reason that he wants it.

I find it hard to believe there were no trades at all available.

But he wanted Miami and Miami wasn't going to give up Jovic, so it couldn't work.

Probably trades available, but do you want to roll the dice on 64 millions of Jovic, who has never played a full season?

I would bet most trades have you taking back a contact you don't necessarily want for an ending deal.
