Not sure if those comments came before or after the ownership sale of the Mavs.
All that being said, this info came to me probably 2-3 weeks ago from a friend who spoke to someone high up in the Stars organization. Obviously a little bit of a game of operator there, so take it for what its worth.
I've only known Dallas sports, so not sure how many other sports cities have split up hockey/basketball arenas. Have always thought it was a good synergy to have both in one place. I could also see the new Mavs owners wanting the entire piece of the casino / real estate play instead of having to split it off.
Seems like all the new arenas come with the owners trying to make a real estate play all around the arena. I guess that is how AAC was when it started, just slow to develop.
