This is really big imo. I know he's got a since of arrogance to him, but I believe he's the future face of this club and will be utilized in a much more positive way than what he was under Slot. Either him or Wirtz if Iraola can unlock Wirtz in red.

Huge!!! I look forward to him becoming the vice captain as well. Szobo may be cocky, but he works his ass off on the pitch. We need to use his effort to reset the standard at LFC.

This year could be an absolutely massive year for him with Iraola.

Probably obvious, but Jacquet for me. He still needs to fill out, but he looks very impressive physically. I would love to see he and Leoni together at some point if Leoni is fit. He looks like a unit in the videos posted on the LFC Youtube

Jacquet, Nyoni and Rio. I think those three guys could be critical this year in terms of squad rotation. Nyoni I particular because if we can count on him to be a solid midfielder that can play against the bottom half of the table, then we might not have to purchase a midfielder this summer, which I already think seems unlikely.

Rogers to Chelsea. When will these guys learn lol.

Morgan Rogers to Chelsea for $117m. Didn't see that one coming. The cost of doing business these days is crazy. We need 3-4 players and not sure we can or will do more than one at this rate.

I think this window for us will be about getting guys through the door that are around that 35-50 million range.

Not going to say Aston Villa is fleecing Chelsea because I do rate Rogers, but good lord that is an outrageous fee.

That's how we generally used to do business before the wirtz/isak spending spree. Outside of vvd, we never spent outrageously big. Even Mo and Allison came with reasonable fees.

Let the work begin. Got quite a bit to do in about a month and 12 days. As I mentioned previously, I think this window will be more about buying that 35-50M player that is either young and can provide competitive depth or an older player in their late 20's who can do that same thing.

We splashed the cash to get Alisson. We broke the GK transfer record to get him. Then Chelsea broke it again like 2 weeks later to get Kepa. And Alisson has been worth every penny. He was looking like he could be a world-class GK at Roma and he has certainly turned into one.

Same with VvD. World record for a defender at the time, but he was one of the best in the EPL already playing for Southampton. He has repaid his transfer fee in full and then some.

Isak was a top 3 striker in the EPL for like the 3 seasons prior to us signing him. The way he forced the move and how late in the window it happened probably affected him both physically and psychologically. Then his season got derailed with the injury. He still has time to make good on the high transfer fee.

And our other outrageously expensive signing Wirtz, imo has not been has bad as has been made out. He carries the weight of the fee, but he hasn't been terrible in a Liverpool shirt. I was hoping he'd have a great World Cup to instill some confidence in him but the entire German team was garbage (Side Note: If Klopp ends up taking that job, which I believe he wants, he will turn that team around so quickly).

Agree on Wirtz. No he was not good enough in a Liverpool jersey last year. We all know that. However, EVERYONE in a Liverpool jersey last year was pretty much a dumpster fire, so hard to just single him out imo (not by you, just in general).

Then this summer for Germany, I actually thought he was one of their brighter spots throughout the tournament despite being in a team that was highly dysfunctional on the field. He was a constant threat delivering the ball into the box out on the left side, which is pretty much what he was asked to do.

For this upcoming year, I would be extremely happy if we got 10 goals and 10 assists.

Alisson set a gk transfer fee record, but it wasn't even in the top 5 largest fees paid that summer. I still think it was a fairly smart piece of financial maneuvering. Gk is a position undervalued given how big of an impact they make. A top GK should be equally as valuable as a top striker given their similar contributions to the score line.

I'm actually ok with the wirtz signing, it's the isak one that bothers me. He hasn't impressed me a bit since he left Newcastle. He looks slow and lazy too me, certainly not worth the price. I think we bought him on the wrong side of his prime, but time will tell the real story.

Just saw on sky news that Jeff Bezos approached to join consortium in talks to buy Liverpool FC stake.

Not sure if anyone saw Iraola's last presser, but I like him a ton.

Also, he put it plainly that he is concerned with how thin we are at CB, thus I think we are going to be in on another CB. I would expect someone in their mid-20's who maybe doesn't have the highest upside but who is competent in substitution.

Edwards and Hughes have clearly checked out. We need about 3 new first team players and these guys are spending their days updating their resumes and apply to jobs on indeed.
