Been kinda a natural falloff I think. Ipswich has been down for so long that they have brought on all the attackers they have and are now just piling balls forward. We also look tired. So I am not all that surprised we have taken a step back from the front foot.

The midfield still is just not balanced at all and lacks a guy who can really pick out passes. I think there have been runners this entire half and Mac Allister has just sat on the ball. You have to hit long balls when teams are playing the pile bodies forward game.

Thanks, makes sense and assumed that was a big part of it. And as we know, we still have our flaws that will be there all year.

The lack of being able to effectively county though still kills us. When teams pile this many guys forward you HAVE to be able to collect it and get it gone from your feet quickly and we just aren't there yet.

Take 3 pts on the road anyway you can. Especially with this "new" squad and mgr.

Way more positives than negatives this game for sure. Plenty of work left, but that was a really professional win.

Jacquet had some loose touches, but I thought he was really good otherwise. Araujo and Virgil were rock solid.

I don't think Cody and Wirtz work together well on the left. They both want to occupy the half-spaces on that side. With Barcola now, I am planting Gakpo on the right and telling him this is your spot now, make it yours. That will free up Wirtz to form that identity with Barcola, and then allow Cody to work in his space on the right.

I loved the first half intensity. Biggest change from games 1 and 2 to this game. I actually like that Jacquet had a period of uncertainty. He showed that he can stay calm, recover and played well the rest of the game.

Isak is a great finisher. Both goals were created from press-to-attack moves, which is a huge change from last season.

Also if I might add, when Kerkez wants to be a real LB, he's quite good. It's the going forward bit that I don't see with him. But I'll take a solid, real LB.

Have watched a lot of Bournemouth so far this year. I would pass on Rayan given the price. Does not have a complete game at this point.

Alex Scott is somebody I would love to see in the Liverpool midfield though.

Rumors are that Bhatia in particular really wants Liverpool to go after Olise. Obviously that needs to align with that the scouting department thinks and wants, but apparently he's the big fish.

Love Scott. I do wonder if we need more of a passer in midfield, but I think he's really great overall sort of Elliott Anderson esc.
