Unfortunately, until Joe and Leoni get healthy we have very few options to spell them.

I think I would give Frimpong some run at RB again this weekend, but we'll see. I just do not like the idea of playing a CB are RB three times in eight or nine days. That's how you pull a hammie or some other muscle injury. Gomez is back in training as well this week so I think he'll be available Saturday but I doubt he plays. Then Leoni is back in a few weeks.

I think the depth is fine honestly, I just do not think I would jeopardize a player right now.

Frimpong scares me back there. I still think he has value to the squad as a winger, but I'm not sure he can play RB in the EPL. Too many big boys that will park themselves on the right wing and just get free headers all game long. If we have to rotate at RB, I prefer Dom.

Nice of the FA to admit, once again, that Liverpool have dropped points due to bad officiating. I also do not understand why there is no alternative for making substitutions when the stupid number board isn't working.

Was just looking around on FotMob and Barcola has already recorded the fastest top speed in the prem this year in his 26 minutes played. Cannot wait to see him once he has settled in for a few games.

Somewhat surprisingly, Isak has the number 10 top speed. The pace and ability are there to be deadly on the counter. Need to cohesion within the team to continue to progress.

Alisson for as great as he is can sometimes make some bone-headed plays.

Definitely. You're going to have games like this this year. Just what it is. But you gotta find a way to scratch a goal though.

Awful. As stated before, going to be an up and down year. May be rougher than we thought though, especially with the lack of depth and the 4 competitions. But 2 total points at home against this competition is simply not good enough no matter what.

Iraola said the squad was tired, which was pretty evident. We were just a bit slow in several important moments.

Gravenberch is really struggling to fit in. He looked incredible the year we won the title playing as a 6. He did a great job sitting deep, protecting the back 4 and providing simple distribution to start the attack. Last year and the start of this year, it appears he has abandoned the entire philosophy that made him a good 6. Just a little bit of positional discipline would transform him back into a useful player, but he seems incapable or unwilling to do so. I'm also not sure what the managers are telling him. He is talented carrying the ball forward, so its possible he is being encouraged to move forward. I'd rather they just have him focus on staying back so others can attack.

The team looked so much better once Macca came on, simply because he stayed disciplined.

Bruno Fernandes is such a rat. For Foden to be sent off and Bruno to not even get a yellow is completely unjust.

So horrific. Allowing that goal and their explanation at first was one of the worst if not worst calls/decisions I have have ever seen. Beyond comical. No idea how you can have VAR and be that incompetent (to review it or not, etc). It's constantly happening and just ruining any integrity left of the PL (being dramatic here).

VAR needs to be done away with. I think it has only made things worse for the sport and slowed the games down.

It's the inconsistency in how rules are applied that drives me crazy. Every week there is a massively controversial call that is ruled completely differently than it was a week or two before

What I find odd, is the fact that the officiating/VAR was significantly better during the world cup, despite the fact they were using a complete smorgasbord of officials and some new technology.

The VAR usage was smoother, quicker and more consistent. The officiating allowed physicality with in reason, but didn't allow the wrestling matches in box to persist. The same thing could be said of the officiating in the previous Euro's, where everyone left the tournament looking at that style to be the norm.

Given that the EPL is the highest grossing league in the world, you would think they officiating would mirror that of the world cup or euros...but it simply doesn't. There are times where I'm watching a EPL match and it feels like a dose of WWF-style drama was injected into the ref.
