The only problem I have with that second yellow is that they actually had to look at it and talk about it.

The ref got it right. Just don't know why it took so long. That was flagrant and obvious.
Germany can still score, they will just be more prone to giving up a counter. If they don't play for the win, they are looking at a very difficult scenario to advance in the last game
Maybe since they knew if they called for a yellow card that he was done?
Wow.. the #1 team in the world can be knocked out.. (if Sweden score w/ the advantage in the next 10mins ) Additionally, Argentina is out. This is a crazy world cup.

They need a Mexico win along with their own victory over South Korea.
And if recent history is any indicator, relying on Mexico to win to help you get through is a fool's errand.

Yep, you basically need to murder someone to get sent off. They really seem to ignoring a lot of cardable fouls.

It's not even to get a much different angle like you normally see, they are playing it back out to within 10 yards of the corner. Maybe the thought is to get the defense sucking out and catch them shifting and lose their marks?

I'm really not sure. Even when they play it outside, they pull it back and try to bring it back up the center. Sweden stacks the box and play dies. They've had so many chances for early crosses but havent taken advantage of them....
It's good news for Germany that the Group E games will be contested after Mexico-Sweden. If Brazil somehow finishes 2nd in the group, Mexico will lose on purpose.LeonardSkinner said:
