The replay on the missed PK was even more of a miss. There was a foul on the shoulder charge and he also kicked the Swede's leg. That kick out would have taken the possible red off the table.

Germany is really lucky they aren't down by two goals.

Sweden needs to game plan the first five or ten minutes. Play incredibly conservative because Germany will throw everything at them after the break. Sweden just needs to survive, style points be damned.

If they are still up after ten minutes, Germany might panic. Even mighty German will panic when they know they will be eliminated after two games.

I think Germany getting bumped is great for the game. Let's go Sweden!

I have to say I actually like the way VAR is being used and the standard set. The explanation for "clear and obvious error" was explained in the pre tournament press briefing to be a call that 95 out of 100 referees would find to be an error. They are clearly not re-refereeing judgement calls on the field.

That play is a judgement call. He made it. I don't agree with it but it was judgement and the bar he is setting on the field.

The noncall leading to Mexicos 2nd goal is the only one I can really think of that should have been under review...but I also don't agree that VAR should be able to look at those anyways so I'm ok with it.

20? It's almost like you think 5 minutes of stoppage time is added to the end of every game, regardless of how much or little stoppage has actually occurred.

This would be an excellent time for Sweden to bring on the Zlatan, if Sweden would have brought him and he would have accepted the super sub role.
