I am not sure if loaning Romeu takes The Chelsea down to 17 international players on the squad.
I'm not super thrilled about him being loaned out, but I have faith in club. Our current depth doesn't concern me; I just want Mikel gone. He's the last guy on our roster that I'd love to see get gone.
Mikel not expected to move on.
I like Mikel. He may not be a worldbeater but he provides good squad depth. His defensive qualities are good and he is our best backup for Matic. Selling him would be silly.

He is slow, lacks aggressiveness, never hustles and in short I find him downright lazy.
He shines occasionally, but less often than I would like...see his goal total(s).

That's not his role on the club. He's not making a living playing soccer because he's bollocks. He's a very solid defensive player. He won't impress you going forward because he will never be asked to do more than shield the back 4. He's Chelsea's very own Kyle Beckerman, minus the hair.
I'd take Romeu over Mikel any day of the week plus Sunday. Hell, I'd even take John O'shea over Mikel.

In other news, I read that RA personally told Lampard that he is welcome back to Chelsea any time he likes. I would love to see him get involved with the Academy players after his fling with Man Chity / NYCFC. I can't think of a better mentor to aspiring, young English players. Well, maybe John Terry...
