I have no idea what the rules are regarding adding members but I would imagine every other SEC team except us would be happy to add both tu and OU if not solely for the mountain of cash it would generate. My guess is that the only way this happens is if it's orchestrated by by ESPN, because the longhorn network seems like a major sticking point.

Maybe they are feeling left out in regards to the espn article today. Good riddance. I have had my fill of both of them. They made their bed - and as Bowtie said - we'll take care of you....................with a big NO.

Doesn't fit the SEC expansion model and would also be at least 3 SEC members that would be particularly opposed to tu including us, Arky, and Mizzou. OU also has an OSU problem. I suggest they resume talks with the PAC. Lol.

I don't believe the SEC would treat us this way either. Would be historically out of character for them to treat a conference member this way. SEC also would seem to be opposed to a historic prima Donna "member".like you know who.

Also , we'd get support from Fl and SCAR to keep them out imo. You vote against adding tu and we'll promise to vote against ever adding Clemson or Florida State for example .

Don't want either of them as well. Adding Oklahoma as a state would bring in less to the conference than the slice of pie that they would take. We already have the state locked up so texas would be another mouth to feed. Even a projection of the "national audience" wouldn't guarantee a net gain.

Even if the money made sense they are terrible business partners, texas for being scorpions that will always undermine their partners to ensure they have control. OU for being texas' gimp so long as they can be good a football. A&M needs to make it clear that it will be over our dead bodies in a demolished Kyle Field where we would support them. They kept us down for so long so **** them.

This would most likely not happen but if it did, Alabama and Auburn would most likely be realigned to the east and our conference would be:

Ole Miss
LSU
Missouri
Arkansas
Texas A&M
t.u.
Oklahoma
Mississippi State

LSU permanent east game would likely shift to Bama.

Also the big 12 would pretty much have to disband and join other conferences.

I totally agree. It seems unlikely that a single program could hold this up if everyone else wants it. It seems like tu would have to put its tail between its legs and give up horn network rights. That and acknowledge that they are going to throw the rest of the B12 in the garage which is what will happen if tu and ou leave.

Bull**** it would. Not only does our campus have the culture, but our locker room has toughness. You can thank Jimbo for that. Even Mack Brown couldn't change the entitled attitude at t.u. They'd get their ass whipped every year by MSU like we did under Sumlin.

SEC would be better served heading up the eastern seaboard for like NC and VA.

This is plausible. More likely, to and ou are using it as leverage in negotiations within the BDF.

Article to offset our one good ESPN article and also on our media day. Now news will talk about tu and us vs just us. Timing as always.

Now the other b12 members will be scared and cut their salary for tu and ou.

This. The contract is over in 2025 and ESPN will bid low. t.u. scrounging to preserve capital.

Nothing you mentioned is accurate. Regarding money, tu adds no new markets for TV exposure that we didn't already bring to the SEC network. Also, as stated earlier other schools have a similar desire to be the sole SEC member in their state.

Everyone in the SEC knows why we left. They know what blew up the PAC deal in originally.

Whether it's those two schools or some else, I do think this is the next logical evolution, whether it's now or five years from now, With NIL becoming more important, the NCAA reportedly wanting to shrink its involvement, it will need to be run more like a pro league. And pro leagues don't have the haphazard structure of the NCAA as it stands. Four 16 team divisions makes sense.
And from a Big12 perspective, they are the most vulnerable based on geography and internal compatibility. Plus their next Tv contract won't be what we just got with the uncertainty around the sport, so they are looking for a life raft.
And from the SEC's perspective, if the other four conferences hold, then we get the two biggest free agency prizes.

I know you and Mizzou would hate it though if Ut came.

They could do 4 pods of 4 teams. Almost like an NFL conference. Something like this.

Texas A&M
LSU
tu
OU

Arkansas
Missouri
Kentucky
Scar

Alabama
Auburn
Ole Miss
Miss St

Florida
Georgia
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

But like everyone else is sayingnot gonna happen.

I don't think so. Arkansas and Missouri both would say hell no. USCe, Florida, and Georgia are in the same boat as us with us being the only SEC teams in the state, they wouldn't want to set that kind of precedent either.

If there is another expansion, would probably be teams in NC, Virginia, or Midwest.

from what sources would this "mountain" come?

SEC already has the Texas TV market.

SEC network is already in every home that has the LHN.

What is the value-added?

One of the most ridiculous points of that article is that the SEC would need either tu or ou to be a National Super conference. We're already there!

Add tu = literally no benefit. SEC already has proven to own the State of Texas.

Add ou = get to add Oklahoma. Meh.

I feel like you are underestimating greed. If you wave enough cash everyone will get on board. I have no idea if this would ever happen but if TV networks can come up with the cash it's hard to imagine anyone getting in the way. Including us.

But what cash? Bigger TV contract? No, A&M owns the TV market in Texas.
