That 12th Man Foundation statement looks like someone spent time flipping through the thesaurus...loathsome, deranged, etc.

Sumlin and his family must be desperate to save his job. This letter real or not doesn't represent the university or the fans. They know it too. This is a disgusting way for Sumlin's to generate sympathy and to some degree job security.

Hopefully A&M shows the courage and fairness by firing him and not cower down under political correctness BS.

First, I wish this never would have happened. Second, I hope its some anti-Aggie kid thinking this is funny and will learn a lesson about what's appropriate humor as opposed to it really being a racist Aggie.

Saying that, how can so many of you assume it's not an Aggie? Many of you are the same ones that laugh at moms of criminals who say "He's a good boy and never hurt anybody" and can't acknowledge that their son miight be guilty. There are a lot of Aggies out there and a lot of racists. Unfortunately, those two circles do intersect, so yes, there is the possibility that its some idiotic Ag.

As cross posted on the OB:

Can we agree that this does not psychologically look like the "rant" of an angry fan?

If you were p*ssed at the way that Sumlin was coaching and wanted to go to the trouble of letting him know it, wouldn't you level some specific, and likely lengthy, criticism? Like a mention of clock management, conditioning, salary, swag, uniforms, etc? Or plays, particular games or personnel you disagreed with? Or if crazy enough to threaten him to try and run him off, again, wouldn't the letter be specific or more menacing? Isn't the purpose of such a rant against the coach to change his behavior or run him off? I don't think a brief, vague note with a racial epithet and Scooby Doo villian-esque warning that looks like it was scrawled in 10 seconds is what a fan rant would look like, nor that of someone wanting to effect a coaching change. This seems more like a note for the sole purpose of dropping the n-bomb and smearing Aggies as a whole. That extra planning went into concealing the origins of the letter make the intention that much clearer.
The story isn't that [DeSantis] "couldn't win" the primary. The story is that an overwhelming majority of our population is heinously stupid. 50% of them vote for communists. 75% of the remaining 50% vote for Trump, who cant win. When the majority of the opposition party insists on voting for an opposition candidate who can't win, you get exactly the government you deserve. - Well Endowed Ag

Shouldn't that stamp have a inkstamp on it since it was supposed to be "circulated" and accepted by the USPS? I can't 100% tell from the pic but doesn't look to have one.

It definitely represents some scumbags. There's always a small percentage of people who feel this way, not matter how much we advance as a society. This person just wrote a letter.

Sorry I didn't read the whole thread but when was this letter received ? It seems that if the game was late Sunday and Monday was a holiday then a mailed letter would have taken a bit longer to get to a destination from Houston to college Station or even CS to CS

Good point. I live over a hundred miles from Houston in central Texas. Dropped a payment in the mail 9/1 that was due 9/5 to a local vendor. They received it today.

And going public with this letter might hurt his marketability and that of other black coaches as schools see how this is playing out, how a single letter from a POS can cause so much of a problem. Those doing the hiring my wonder if it is worth the trouble, negative publicity, etc. over something they had nothing to do with.

So over dramatic. These tweets. This PC culture media feels an obligation to chime in on every single alleged event. Only further blowing this situation out of proportion. All of this before we even know whats really going on. Proper procedure has been replaced with outrage and backlash. Followed by immediate out pouring of support. It's the equivalent of an internet flash bang grenade preemptively going off.

I hope A&M is going way over the top trying to investigate it, because that is way too shady. I could see an idiot alum or fan saying something racially charged in a rant that has some sort of message, but this letter doesn't sound real at all. Still guessing it's a troll designed to make A&M look bad that sent it.

And interestingly written in all cursive, which would lead me to believe an older female at that.
Correct. Joke Address is the Houston Country Club. t.u. type.

"Earlier this evening, we became aware of a letter of unknown origin that was sent to the Sumlin family home. We unequivocally condemn this disgusting and threatening letter. There is no excuse for hatred and, as a community, we will not allow the ignorance of some to intimidate any member of our community. On behalf of all Aggies, our thoughts are with Coach Sumlin and his family, and we will do all that we can to ensure their safety. We are working with law enforcement authorities to bring the sender of this letter to justice. We stand with the Sumlins and will not accept this inexcusable act of hate."

Wow. But a prof says whites should die and it's all ok. This is inexcusable being sent to this coach, but no statement was released in re: to Curry. Unbelievable!
False:

"The interview features disturbing comments about race and violence that stand in stark contrast to Aggie core values most notably those of respect, excellence, leadership and integrity values that we hold true toward all of humanity," Young said in his response.

the Houston country club return address is key. why would a real a&m fan put that as the return address? makes no sense. why would a real random A&M fan try to implicate Houston BMA's with a hate letter if they were upset about Coach Sumlin. it would have seemed more legit that it could have been an A&M fan if that wasn't on there, which means the phony return address shows that this is almost certainly a false flag letter. to associate this with an A&M fan is misguided when the signs point to a troll from another school or sjw. the meaning of the return address gives away the motive of the individual.

Actually, since the letter says Sumlin " can't win " , releasing it puts hm on the spot to prove it wrong. Sumlin, his coaches and the players, are now under a lot of pressure to prove the letter wrong. It will be very interesting to see how the season turns out .

They'll win the next two. Enough to keep it alive. Then they get trashed and it comes back on the scene as evidence of bad A&M wanting to fire Sumlin.
