Has anyone else thought that, due to the racial accusations and threats in the letter - this could give Sumlin another year?

The only appropriate response to this is to say the letter is unacceptable and whoever wrote it needs to crawl back into whatever swamp they came out of. Nobody ever deserves to have their life threatened or their family belittled with racial slurs. To see a letter like this sent over something so small as losing a football game is pathetic. Whoever wrote this anonymous letter is a shameful coward.
Nobody knows who wrote it yet, so speculating that it couldn't have been an aggie or who else might have written it just makes us look ignorant and shameful.
Because it contains a threat, police will likely investigate. Hopefully the identity of the author is found and then that person can be judged accordingly. Until then, the only appropriate response is to say such a letter is unacceptable.
We might not like Sumlin's recent performance as a head coach. We might want to fire him and hire a new coach. But that's a separate issue. This letter is shameful, whoever wrote it is scum, and Sumlin and his family don't deserve to be treated this way. Nobody should ever be treated this way.
I hope they find the sender, and if it is an A&M student\alumni, they should be outed and their ring melted.AGGies0311 said:
But what if it is an A&M student?
Unpossible, there is no current student that would write like that.Quote:

Still amazes me that signatures are in block letters these days. Must drive hand-writing analysts insane.Bayside Tiger Ag said:AGGies0311 said:

Kids don't write in cursive anymore

Racists wouldn't pay someone millions of dollars to coach a football team.AGGies0311 said:
He does.... He benefits from all of this unless its a fake from him.
The BOR wouldn't dare fire him at the end of the year because then he could say we are racists.
Also if he feels that A&M doesn't do enough to "protect him" then there goes another lawsuit and he could ask to leave for "fearing for his safety"

Plenty have. That's why some have their suspicions about this letter being a fake. (Not saying I do specifically)

It may not be faked, but she and her husband could have handled it differently if they cared about his program and the school. They went public to burry A&M and. Run it down. We cannot control what is sent or who it is sent by. Every town, state, company, school has bad apples. This is sad whether real or not. But it sure seems fishy.

it could absolutely be an A&M fan or student - we have hundreds of thousands of former students and surely there is an ignorant redneck somewhere in our family tree capable of writing this. So does just about every single other school in the country. But, as someone said earlier, how racist can we be institutionally when we're paying the guy $5 million a year to coach a game? Some jobs unfortunately make you targets for the worst of humanity - our president was recently called a "cock holster" on national TV and had his head cut off in effigy in a video seen by his kids. None of this is right - it just shows there are a lot of dumb people out there who can't be policed 24/7. The only thing you can control is how you react and that's what determines how much power you give the ignorant dumbasses. Right now, as a country, we are giving the ignorant dumbasses way too much power.
