Well, for the jokers that are paying Sumlin's salary, I hope you're proud. You signed yourselves up to one of the most ridiculous contracts ever and to a guy that is proving to be a real loser. "but, but, we are gonna find him a new OC" That is so stupid. There is no righting the ship when your leader simply doesn't have it in him.

This is like having a jackass CEO that is overpaid, but has a great contract. So you keep ushering in new COOs and CFOs. Keep burning your cash, but nothing is going to change.

And another thing, this power play is ridiculous. The faction of guys that want Sumlin out are CORRECT. There has got to be 80% disapproval of the guy. And if the dirt on Sumlin was ever made public, I bet that disapproval would go to 99%. But that doesn't matter because it's all about showing everyone who's in charge.
Well said. Bayside's group either doesn't have the balls to do what's right for the University OR (with $35/bbl oil), they don't have the money. On second thought, they may have the money, but they don't want to part with it in order to correct something they likely had a big hand in to begin with.

As enthralling as this thread has been, only one thing is for certain. Several posters on these boards are doing damage to the football program. I suspect some are doing it intentionally. I really wish we would stop with the rumor and innuendo.
KWS is doing damage to the football program. I don't think you want the alternative, which is going public with the proof.
^^This. The sheer impact of having TWO former 5* QBs recruiting against you is colossal. There is NOTHING, outside of winning a national championship, that Sumlin can do to overcome that. And to top that, one of the QBs went to a school where they may never play and the other went to a school that runs the exact opposite type of offense that suits his play style.

Oh, they have the money and if Rev needed a heart transplant they would be first in line to pay for that crap.

I am going to imagine that Bayside and Leap Day have clandestine meetings down below in the steam tunnels where they exchange info about what's really going on. Thanks for the most entertaining thread since perhaps since bolting to the SEC.

So the "winning faction" wins the battle and Sumlin stays on for another year / but loses the war and we have to replace him next year.

Sounds like a plan/sarcasm

I know nothing, but my sense is that it has to be more than something he did (or is doing) in his free time. That whatever it is has somehow spilled over into his job. Just guessing. But several who claim to be in the know say it has nothing to do with NCAA violations, and I admittedly don't know where the lines are there.

here's what's going to happen:

-Sumlin will remain the head coach going into 2016.
-a new OC will be named in mid-January. Probably Noel Mazzone since he has some experience 'turning around' offenses.
-a new AD will be named late Feb, early March.

behind the scenes:
- Sumlin will look to improve aggie football for the sole purpose of getting an NFL job. He will leave at the end of 2016 season (if not for the NFL, he will part ways regardless).
- The new OC will have signed a contract for a year knowing that Sumlin might be gone. He will look to improve aggie football for the purpose of advancing his career as an HC or another OC job at a P5 school.
- The new AD will know this, and will have time to line a HC up for 2017.
- Chavis will stay regardless of who the HC is.
- ??
- Aggies win the national championship in 2017.

With that said, how long will it be before these multiple "instances" come to light? In today's world, there really are no secrets. Sooner or later, things get exposed. If there is truly "cause" (and I'm not claiming to know that there is), then it will come out eventually and we will be forced to deal with it.

You gotta be kidding. Mazzone doesn't have experiencing turning around anything. The guy was out of coaching for 5 years, reportedly for trying to undermine his head coach, and is now unemployed. We have to do better than Mazzone. There is a strong loser's attitude that has to be squashed.

but who will we be bidding against? tu, lsu, auburn, etc? And if we have to do that, are you confident that the decision makers won't stick us with another terrible contract with an insane buyout?

I am not confident in that scenario workout the best for us.

And down the stretch they come:

Welborn out in front for his naming the canning of Hyman a full half day before anyone else.

Bayside in second with the "Sumlin is here in 2016 but Meacham in play" which seems to be the consensus since late last night.

But closing in on the frontrunners is Leap Day with Billy Liucci's hesitance today and the possible hammer coming down on Sumlin if LD's BMAs go all in

And from way in the back of the pack .... Rojo. Nobody thought he had a chance at this point but IF Sumlin is fired for JUST CAUSE then he will be catapulted to the front with Leap Day for a photo finish.

The side that Bayside(not that he is on their side) is orating for is basing their argument COMPLETELY on a loser mentality. They are the ones that pushed for allowed Sumlin to have such an outrageous contract. They are the ones that are refusing to take responsibility for that. They are the ones that continue to just kick the problem down the road. They are so freaking arrogant that the smell of their own crap is pleasing to them.

They are content and happy with 7-9 wins per season. They are unwilling to make a change because they are "afraid of what might happen". These folks are filthy stinking rich because they took risks in their businesses that paid them huge dividends. Unfortunately they won't use that business savvy in this situation. It is beyond confounding.

So if Meacham is the answer, but we can't convince him to come as OC, why don't we just make him HC?

No, I wasn't serious. But if you think that he is the answer, then it makes sense. sumlin brings nothing to the table.

Given a choice, however, I would prefer to gamble on Meacham as head coach right now than keep sumlin. Might get lucky. We already know what we have.

They also don't act on emotion or make decisions without an alternative better choice ready to go.

Because they like telling everyone how cool they are with "coach cool." It isn't about wins as much as it is about feeling like a badass. Hell, I'm sure a few of them even had their share of "fun" with Sumlin as well.

Unfortunately I also agree with this. But this is just their crutch of the week. Once again using fear of the unknown as a reason to not fix a problem when it needs fixing.

I'd say it is kind of like this. It is bad enough to get just cause but they cannot keep it under wraps too long (it is not totally new) and they want to play this card sooner rather than later (if they have to).

Leap is correct, there is some dirty laundry and it isn't pretty. Looch also didn't sound confident Sumlin would be here this fall (on TexAgs radio).

has he got domestic problems showing up at practice?

Sumlin is cleaning up the mess he created and I think he should be given the opportunity to get it right. That said he needs to have results on the field next year and by that I mean 10+ wins in the regular season. However unlike many here I have confidence he can do just that.

i don't have any more confidence that sumlin will clean up the football mess that he created than i do the bmas will clean up the sumlin mess they've created.
