I'm here.
I just don't have anything really new.
We are still hoping some NFL team is dumb enough to take Sumlin. If not, we are prepared to offer a buyout amount (and we think he'd take it). If not, we would drop dirt to make the buyout go down.
I hope we have a replacement lined up. Don't know either way.

quote:Point taken. Perhaps that was a bit out of line. I think donors can have some input without trying to run the show. A lot of that could probably be taken care of by having an active AD that takes charge and actually leads. JMO.quote:Are you saying that if you were in the position to donate a large sum of money to A&M athletics that you would sit in your suite and STFU? Unfortunately, the world doesn't work that way. Large donors are successful people that are used to having input when they invest their hard earned money. All due respect to everyone venting their frustrations, but the BMA's are the solution here; not the problem. Things will sort themselves out. There are things going on behind the scenes as we type.
Yes, that is correct. However, not all of them are as "involved" in situations like this. Frankly, I think, that is a lot of the issue with Aggie football. Most if not all of these guys need to sit quietly in their suites and STFU. Unfortunately, we all know that won't happen.

Considering I quickly corrected myself but originally named a well known store in that area, with an event at that any hetero male in BCS during the time would remember, it was a stupid round of gotcha by the agtag texags koolaid kult. But I should not be surprised since apparently I was supposed to remember some article about glory holes. Remembering that over our girls of the big12 issue is ridiculous. I also put forth some info that only someone who was at A&M during that time and still kept up with it would know. We have enough people that could answer that on this board if they tried.

I think this is going to go as it always does. The BMAs willing to fork over the cash get to make the decision.

quote:Here is the thing. In the case of substance abuse, like say alcoholism, it is rarely a big surprise to those around the program. We don't really know until we are supposed to know. Sarkasian was a good example of that. He just didn't start drinking in August. He has been an alcoholic and it got worse, to the point of USC letting him go.
When I hear that they have "dirt" on Sumlin, the thing that comes to my mind is substance abuse. That could get messy fast.

No, not that I know of. Recruiting is going to tank whether Sumlin is here or not, and the situation has the potential to get real ugly.
Why do you think the NFL news leaked Sun. and then Spav was finally fired that afternoon (despite supposedly being fired over month ago)?
The main catalyst for this movement was a group of administrators/BMAs realizing Sumlin had been almost desperately pursuing (more so than his usual annual NFL footsie through his agent) NFL jobs through much of the season and especially during the QB debacle.
That NFL leak wasn't some sip rumor.
They want him gone, and frankly from what I know I think they are justified.
quote:Yep.
doesn't involve NCAA infractions, Sumlin is the root of it.
Think of it. If Spav has been gone since Nov. why no real movement on the OC. Sure we got the Mazzone leak but that quickly stalled out. If Sumlin was completely safe, you have your OC. You need to generate positive buzz and get ready for the dead period to end. There is no reason to not announce an OC now, unless you either don't have one or cannot have one.

Why do you ask your source if sumlin is going to be here in 2016, but you do not ask him when they will announce the OC?

Character assassination doesn't bode well when you begin the search for a new coach. They may have to leak it and use it. But it's best if both sides can agree on something. Be it him sticking around or him leaving.
quote:Where have I stated that I know they have no coach lined up? I have repeatedly said I don't really know but keep misquoting me and being a d-bag about it. I don't do the same to you.
With no coach lined up (per Leap Day) and
quote:The long legal battle doesn't keep them from firing him with cause.
Because they want to "see if he leaves on his own" and then only then will they go nuclear "and release the dirt". Which would be a long legal battle.

quote:on TexAgs radio they're not going to cut it all loose... plus Rusty certainly won't and no one wants to be the one that leaks it all over the airwaves. If it comes out though I'm sure they'll talk about it plenty. Hopefully negotiations with KS work out and we all move on with minimal damage.

Agree completely. It was laughable and sort of sad. It was also pretty bizarre.
