The Peanut Gallery. Could never remember the name of that place. The Grapevine. My wife--girlfriend then--got me eating salads at that place. She got a waitress to give her the recipe for their Sangria, and she still makes it all the time. At our tailgates during football it is one of the staples.

Catfish Kitchen, I think it was called. Out towards Snook. Ate there on Sunday nights when everything else was closed.

NY Subs was shady. They still owe most employees roughly a month in pay. The owners / mangement outright lied to the staff to keep them working for free.

Graham Central Station, Hall of Fame, and zyphers bring back memories. Then there was the Pizza Planet, Michael's baked potatoes delivery, and Archies 33 cent burgers...all mid to late 80s vintage.

It was a good pizza place. First one I was aware of was in Denton (my hometown), next to UNT. I was thrilled when they built one on Northgate in the mid-80s. I don't think it stayed open in CS more than 2 or 3 years.


Weep not Dentonite, for the people who took over the Flying Tomato's building to open Fitzwilly's are the same people who own Lucky Lou's, RipRocks, and Cool Beans.

God I miss Cow Hop. I was able to call up the lady who runs AggieLandmarks who makes all the wooden replicas of buildings and get the Cow Hop special ordered. Sitting right next to my wooden Freebirds!

Used to work at Tom's. I ended up quitting the day before it went out of business forever. Man I miss that food!

The best part about NY subs was the fact that you could get your $2 chugger there, then take it to whatever bar you wanted(I think at the time chicken chuggers were maybe $3.75) back when you could drink on the back porch.
