I was getting something to eat and watching that live. Had to tell the waitress what I was watching so I didn't look like a crazy man laughing at the baseball game on the TV.

Esp after a rain delay and a stack of IC lights

My son and I were sitting at the bar at the greenie restaurant in the Woodlands near the Pavilion, watching the game and following the thread in real time before heading to a concert.

Jetch kept us interested with his updates and someone was standing by ready to gif that and someone was ready to add fireworks.

When your pitching staff is practically a MASH unit your team is gonna struggle.

Downside to being spin rate focused is that you need a deep pitching roster and farm system to keep up with the increase in injuries.

This has felt like 2009-14 to me (except worse because we were tanking and knew the future was bright.)

Outside of that timeframe the Astros have been one of the best franchises in baseball over the last 35 years.

From 1992-2008 only had two seasons below .500 and always in the mix for division titles and playoffs.

Great day at the ballpark yesterday seeing Walker murder a pitch for a homer and Paredes hit the foul pole for some free Chickfila. Arrighetti continued to shine with a 3-0 record now and only walking only 1 batter yesterday. Judge hit one to the pump, but that's all he managed at the plate.

No Yordongs, but he hit a single basically thru Chisholm's glove webbing when all of their infield was pulled way back which obviously didn't help.

Lots of NY fans in my section, but it was a very tame crowd overall compared to the last time I saw em in town in '22. I needed ear plugs for that game, but that was moreso due to Houston fans.

I guess they're not playing the Kill Bill music at Daikin anymore which kinda sucks.

Hard to watch the Astro's this year.. so glad the Aggies are kicking some arse.

Sorry if you guys already know this, but I just started listening to podcasts and am starting with "Smartless". During covid, they had Clayton Kershaw on one of their early shows....I had no idea he was from Dallas and had committed to the Aggies. He obviously turned them down for the $5m from the Dodgers, but his wife went to A&M.

I've always hated the sob because of the Dodgers...but I need to rethink that now.

Again, sorry if you guys already knew this, I had no idea.

Josh Beckett out of Spring High School also signed a letter of intent to play baseball at A&M, but was selected as the #2 overall pick in the 1999 MLB draft by the Florida Marlins.

Looks like the early game was a good old fashioned dick stomping by the birds.

They could have the worst record in MLB soon enough.

Second game has started great. 6-0 in second with a Dong!
