We just shut it down today, right? The path to back to back is more important than a division title, right?

Am i an idiot for thinking getting the 3rd wildcard is a "guaranteed" path to the WS?

3rd wildcard plays the Twins (they aren't good). Win there and we get the Rangers in the ALDS at GlobeLife (we know what the Astros do at GlobeLife). Win there and we get the O's for our 7th straight ALCS who we have beat 4 of 6 this year (5 of 6 if Pressly doesn't meltdown).
