When the DA lowers charges, which results in lower/no bond or Judges allow violent criminals low/no bond, that has nothing to do with the sheriff staffing issues.

I truly believe a lot of people are losing their marbles after two years of this pandemic. A ton of people we impacted mentally by it. Addiction, mental issues, and suicides have ramped up dramatically...as has murder. I fear that this is just the beginning and the chickens haven't even come home to roost.
