Interstates I drove on were mostly ok, some slush. Saw numerous wrecked cars, including one in real time that spun into the wall. Still plenty of idiots driving around with their hazards on, mostly with their lights off.

This sounds not good for those traveling

I will say when I heard that excuse earlier for the guy's plane having to turn around and him possibly missing the wife's baby shower -- I thought it sounded like a bunch of hooey.

But if that's indeed true -- isn't that lack of preparation Newsom-level incompetence by DFW airport officials? The possibility of this winter storm has been in talks for weeks.

My neighbor in prosper went out and shoveled her driveway. I don't understand. It is still snowing heavily up here. If she can't get out of the driveway, she isn't going to be able to get down the street. I don't think the city will be plowing ;-)

It's always good to shovel when it's snowing and then again when it's done. That way you don't end up with a driveway that's too deep in snow

100% the airports fault. Especially with the amount of buildup this one had with people talking about it middle of last week.

Not sure why they think they need any kind of fluid for the runways. It's slush, not ice. Clear it when it builds up too much and keep operating

Looking at Flightaware there are still flights coming and going at DFW, albeit not many.

This. If you've shoveled snow you know it is a lot easier to shovel 3 inches twice than 6 inches once.

Everyone out here in Prosper drives an AWD Denali or a lifted 4x4 truck. Or a Tesla (indians). Ain't no 6" going to keep anyone from getting out their driveway.

My elderly neighbor across the street has a very steep driveway. Saw her come home couple of hours ago and fail time after time trying to get up to her garage in the car. Several of us got out there and cleaned it off with shovels and viola, traction was restored.

Got out briefly. The rain here (north Dallas/Richardson) isn't really melting the earlier snow. Just turning everything into a slushy mess. Was a little slick but no issue in an all wheel drive car with the college kid driving. Gonna be crappy cobblestone ice for a while after it refreezes until it gets warm tomorrow.

75N from Forest to NE McKinney was 3 lanes open. Moving about 55 mph. Not much traffic and only saw 1 idiot with hazard lights

I shoveled my driveway when I got home because I gotta head back tomorrow morning. Less accumulation that way

The rain is melting all the snow. Almost zero accumulation near downtown

Precipitation has been very minimal the last hour here in Celina. Strange as the radar says otherwise.

This has been really puzzling. Radar says it should be snowing here but nothing...

I don't think the radar can distinguish between the forms of precipitation really well when it's like this. So you'll see heave snow but it's not reaching surface.

There's some dry air slots at the mid levels that came in late afternoon. Radar is picking up snow at upper levels that is evaporating in the dry mid levels.

Give it an hour or two and that should all mix out and we get to the main event - snow!

With the current speed of the precipitation moving east, us here in Johnson County are going to get lucky to see a flake. But with the amount of water on the road, we may get some icey drives in the morning.

Got a bummed out 6 year old

It's been like this much of the day in Lakewood. 33 degree rain just sucks. I have both wood burning fire places going now to dry out the air inside the house.

I've shoveled a lot of snow growing up in Alaska and living in Boston after college. However, they won't plow the streets here. So if you can't get out of your driveway, you can't go down the street. Might as well wait for it all to melt.

I read there is a stubborn warm nose in place that's slow to erode, hence the warming in the atmosphere. What's this and when is it expected to disappear?

For sure but that doesn't work if your driveway sits in a shadow most of the day. My orientation relative to the sun and my neighbor has it with ice for several days after most others on my street.
