Drove back from west Fort Worth to Southlake. 820, 35 and 170 were all good. No ice. Drove 45-50 safely. Rained until I got to Southlake. Now a mixture of sleet/rain.

I'm getting none of this. I don't get why people can't realize that the metroplex is large. People reporting from prosper and McKinney are similar to those reporting from Hillsboro. It's a big difference!

Alaska? Sounds like they're full of it. Tons of flights still coming into DFW, and heated runways aren't a thing. Perhaps they said they're out of deice fluid for the planes? That would still be pretty fast to run out.
Yep, my wife's flight made it to DFW with no issues this morning. Weird they theirs is having to divert.

We got some snow out here in FloMo. I took my 15 year old out in my old truck to drive the neighborhood and up to the high school to see what driving in these conditions is like. I figured, you don't see this very often and I wanted him to get some experience in snow. I then let my puppy out so that she could see snow for the first time. She loved it.

The drive into FW from Aledo this morning wasn't bad. The drive home was okay......but tomorrow morning will be messy, I think.

Yeah there's a bit of a dry slot and some warmer temps aloft coming in with the breaks in the precip from the southwest.

Stinks for the short term. But way more precip coming, temps should come back down. Going to make the roads worse as now it's going to be snow - melt - ice - snow lots of places.

Took the boy to the park at lunch, and the neighborhood kids have gone full calvin and hobbes. These things were over 6 foot.

In Plano it's now raining not sleeting. The snow is melting off the roof. My weather gauge shows 36F but Weather Channel app shows 32F for Plano. The Weather Channel app doesn't show it getting below 32F until tomorrow morning where it will be 31F from 7am-9am. I'm betting it won't actually reach that low and a freeze of all this moisture won't even happen tonight.

Oscillating here. It'll be sleet for a minute then heavy snow again. Looking at big fat flakes out the window now. Still getting about 0.5" or so an hour or so, and we're still at freezing temps, too. I'd bet we've got over 5" at this point and it wouldn't surprise me to see 8"+ by this evening.

Raining while roof melts (Plano). Nearest weather station says 32. Since 7am, it went from 32 to 30 to back to 32.

This has to be the biggest accumulation at the highest temperature that I can ever recall. Snowman needs a raincoat

My neighbor in prosper went out and shoveled her driveway. I don't understand. It is still snowing heavily up here. If she can't get out of the driveway, she isn't going to be able to get down the street. I don't think the city will be plowing ;-)

In Rockwall, big flakes this morning, kids built a snowman, then rain/sleet, followed by some big flakes 30 minutes ago, and now rain/sleet again. I guess this is a try definition of "wintry mix".

Greenville and all side streets I can see remain wet and busier than earlier today. 75 is still moving at highway speed, definitely less people than usual though.

No factor. IMO.

The Ohio State are likely already there. And I know some Texas fans who now aren't going because of the weather.

I know y'all were on pins and needles wondering -- I made it from CS to Dallas this morning with no issues. I will say that once I crossed into Dallas proper around noon there was a ton of slushy mess all over the roads. Just nasty out there, at least in Dallas.

Unless he plans on driving back at 4-5am I don't think he will have significant issues. Just go slow on overpasses and don't drive like a moron and should be fine.
