Channel 4 going with high of 34 on Thu and 40 on Friday. Lots of divergence in forecast data. That is a much warmer forecast.

There is a major difference between 3" of snowy mix with no accumulation and 6" of snow with accumulation. I think Wednesday's high temps may dictate how primed the ground will be to accommodate the colder precipitation.

Those guys are dumbasses.

I say that as someone who has family working there. And I've had drinks with all their Mets. It's one of the dumbest things ever but they hug 2-3 weather models even if outliers and their main two meteorologists have some sort of stupid rift going with some of the good social media mets like POW ponder.

They will be the last to cave on this forecast because their main guys are a bunch of insecure children protective of their egos.

Go look at Evan Andrews tonight. His posts have changed from lol other social media weather personalities are calling for snow but they are idiots to well someone somewhere in Texas getting snow this week but it's too soon to tell where.

Tuesday night will be 'well we have been hinting at winter weather for days now and holy crap going to be a foot of snow tomorrow and we mentioned that that might happen. Hope yall prepped!'

I predict hard freeze and nightmare roadways for Friday. Jerry's curse and the cotton bowl.

Tonight's model runs are showing the temps colder further south all the way to the rio grande and gulf coast. And bring winter precipitation all the way to San Antonio and College Station on Wednesday.

If every thing is trending colder and more moist further south than here, that's a signal.

Well, if I have to do all the cold prep stuff, might as well get to enjoy some snow!

Of course most college kids are supposed to go back this weekend. Daughter goes to OU. Could be problematic. Pretty much learned to not get overly excited until I see the snow myself after forty five years in Texas, so I'll just roll with it.

Models are getting drunk.

Anyone want to go below freezing this Wednesday and stay there until next Wednesday? With a foot of snow Thursday and another round of 4-5" of sleet/snow next Monday - Tuesday?

(I don't want all of this - if next week pans out then ERCOT won't be able to keep up)

I'll stick with WFAAs forecast with next week being in the 50s.

Ya way too early to keep the deep winter train rolling next week.

This week is really shaping up as a banger. The models keep wanting to give us more precipitation. Would be pushing a foot or more of snow.

Jerry gotta be cussing this forecast. More ice and snow falling off the stadium roof and more need for plows to get the teams to the game

So glad I drained my pool equipment. Will be charging all my battery packs. Quarter cord of wood ready to go.

When exactly is the precip supposed to roll in? Thursday night? My clinic will expect everyone to drive in a foot of snow to get to the office to provide elective care to the 10% of patients that show up.

Possibly starting as early as Thursday a.m.
I'm in the same boat...if I can make it, and get employees to make it in too, will the patients even show?

What I'm seeing as well, 4-6" depending on where you live.

I'm hearing early Thursday am through early
Friday am. Meaning by the wake up time Friday it's gone. But it'll be a nice mess over the roads.

It's one thing if we were 20-25 degrees. But with it being 28-32 roads like 75 will be perfectly fine. Then you hit a side road and it's a nightmare. I typically see this being more problematic than just all out frozen tundra.

My mother will be coming home from cancer surgery in this either Thursday or Friday. Really not super excited for my poor old dad on this.

Main event looks to be overnight Wednesday through Friday morning. The models are showing multiple rounds of precip.

There are some models that show us starting to get flurries Wednesday evening but I don't think that would have a travel impact.

Don't expect to go anywhere Thursday or Friday. Or I should say don't plan on it.

Some variables on this. If it stays cloudy Friday, nothing will melt. If we get clear skies, what's on well traveled roads will melt, but we will be in the 20s Friday night so anything melted freezes again.

Models also show another winter storm for us next Tuesday or Wednesday. Just a very preliminary heads up, will keep thoughts to this week's storm for the rest of week.

Ponder posted this morning that roads should be fine on Friday afternoon. We should see all sun and highs in the upper 30s. Any leftover will ice over on Friday night into Saturday morning however.

Mid-morning model runs give us more of a sleet and ice storm than snow. With precip starting Wednesday morning and us not getting above freezing on Wednesday or Thursday.

Just one set of runs, but don't like that.

Noticed this on several homes and a few businesses on my way in to work.

I don't know how people are so unaware of life.

These same people probably luck out and never have any damage from freezes while leaving their sprinklers on and hoses attached to faucets etc....

Had one house in our neighborhood that did this this morning.

They just moved here from overseas, guess they never had cold over there.

You all are pretty harsh.

Here in the city of Dallas sprinkler systems have to have temp and rain sensors. If the bulb is wet or below 37 degree the system will not operate. Granted there is an override on most systems.

Sounds like your neighbor's issue and not yours. If code enforcement is driving around, which they do in our neighborhood, a citation is going to be waiting on their front door soon.

Dallas issues citations on the first offense?

Warning first, but sometimes they "don't stick to the door". Neighbor got a fine because the sidewalk was too wet once. We have so many homes under construction their white trucks pass by on the daily.
