Hoping someone on here can help with a question about a suppressor adapter.

I just realized my .300wby is 1/2-28 and not 5/8-24. My new can doesn't have an adapter to run on 1/2-28 and am trying to decide if I should get the threaded adapter specific to the can that is threaded for 1/2-28?

Or

Do I just buy a reducer that threads onto 1/2-28 and has male 5/8-24 threads on the other end, effectively just extending the threading?

The former seems much more reliable and less points of failure but just curious what everyone else is doing. My other cans either had adapters or I only run them on one or the other.

Rugged Obsidian through Silencershop. Bought 1/28. Approved 2/25, less than a month turnaround. I have a full NFA trust, not one of their single shot trusts. Way better than the rifle suppressor I got 5 years ago that took 11 months so I'm happy with that.

Picked it up at Champion Firearms and probably gave the guys there a good laugh. Guy asked what I was picking up and I had a brain fart and pronounced it: oh-bees-dye-an. Ooops, oh well.

If using only on that gun: get the mount that goes into back of can with 1/2x28 threads

If planning on switching between guns (w/ diff thread patterns): I'd get a muzzle device for each gun and a compatible mount for the back of can so that you don't have to remove an adapter every time.

What model can is it?

It's the Scythe. I just ordered the titanium 1/2-28 thread adapter specific for this can. Not sure I needed the titanium version but it was only like $20 more.

Yeah, my omega 9k came with an adapter to run on 5/8-24 but the Scythe didn't have one to run on 1/2-28

I am not sure if it is interchangeable... it probably is and I just wasted $90 LOL but at least the adapter will "match" the same color as the suppressor I guess
