A little 9"ish baby Texas Brown just made a run across the living room. There was quite a ruckus while I scrolled through my texags snake ID memories to determine whether I could grab it or I need some bbq tongs. No pics, it was safely released back into the wild st augustine side yard.

Yes, the cobra. Is that a one person job or would that require multiple people? The whole incident just made me very curious.

I really think it is a multiple person job in that scenario. You can certainly maintain a cobra by yourself (this case not the greatest example), but catching the field would be questionable.

Those big ass cobra and python pics reminded me of a long repressed memory.
Back in the 80s my idiot brother lived in a trailer house out in the boonies.
He was never there, driving oilfield trucks 80-90-100 hours a week.
Rats had moved into the floorboards and kept eating holes in that crappy plastic waterline.
He was busy and asked my Dad for help fixing a couple water leaks.
Apparently we weren't the only ones aware of the rat issue.
We pulled a couple panels of that crappy plastic stuff around the bottom and started crawling under to see what was going on and there was the biggest damn snake I've ever seen.
It was some released boa or python thing. Not even exaggerating, that thing was 7-8 feet long and 5-6 inch diameter.
That rules out everything in Texas I know anything about. We noped the **** out, came back an hour later with a shotgun, and it was gone.
We fixed the pvc real quick and shagged it. No idea what it was and glad I never saw it again.

Haven't laughed that hard in a while. Thanks!

That comment is going in my phrase bank.

I don't know much about snakes, less about caged snakes. If that snake was raised it's entire life and fed in a cage, how far would it go? How far could it go? Again, I don't know anything about caged snakes, but to me it made sense it was found real close. In it's entire life it's been in a little box. 100 feet would be more than it could even imagine.

No idea. Different snakes have different home ranges and captivity undoubtedly screws that up. I had a kingsnake that got out of my apartment at Sausalito that was gone for 3 months. Found it in my closet, alive, and put it back in it's cage like nothing ever happened.

I don't really do snakes but apparently one of my neighbors breeds them?

I dunno way to freak me out on Facebook selling snakes! Not wild, but snakes nonetheless.

So, obvious rattlesnake, but what kind? I assumed diamondback, but was wondering if prarie rattler instead. And he lived. First, I'm pretty much a "let it live" kind of guy. Two, he was on a road, far from humans. Three, it was on Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge. They frown on "kill them all".

Prairie rattler. Only venomous species identified in that area according to the park website

You can always tell a diamondback by the black and white tail

Looks like Pueblan or other type of milkshake morph. Maybe Honduran.

Yes I think Honduran milk snake is watch she called them. I'm sort of anti snake, so the last thing I want is snakes in the neighborhood.

Hondurans are cool. Very laid back snakes. I used to have a couple of them.

The lady that cleans our house is Honduran. She sings the whole time she's cleaning. Very cool lady. Glad she made it in before the wall goes up. Can't beat the sound of a singing Honduran on a Monday, I can promise you that.

I think I've posted this before, but not on this thread. I liked it because it was the tiniest darn snake I've ever seen. That's a quarter in the photo. I think I was told it was a Groundsnake (Sonora semiannulata)
