Oh man I am of the opposite opinion. I did not care for XCX and would MUCH rather see if they connect 1 and 2 any further. Monolith has also been working on a new fantasy IP, that would have my attention!

Sadly, I think XBX2 is a long shot. For whatever reason Monolith just doesn't seem interested in revisiting that world, even though the first one ended on a huge cliffhanger.

I've been addicted to Mario Kart since Christmas when we got the switch. The Force Unleashed was one of my favorite games on X-Box 360, and I played a ton of Super Mario Strikers on the Wii.

The only issue is I'll soon be back on the PS4 for a while. Horizon Forbidden West and new Gran Turismo dropping soon.

I've never played Ocarina in time or Majoras Mask, is the expansion pack worth $50 to essentially rent those games for a year?

Hey, listen! Ocarina of Time still consistently makes it into "greatest games of all time" lists. Also still one of my absolute favorite Zelda games. You just have to go into it recognizing a lot of the love it gets is for how revolutionary it was at the time.

I was not as big a fan of Majora's mask, but a lot of people think it was way better. I never really liked the 3 day timer, and wasn't a fan of the dungeon designs. But if you like a darker story with loads of side quests, it may be more your thing!

Both great games that are still highly praised today, so definitely worth playing. Also, there are plenty of other games on the online platform. Even the NES and SNES stuff, I've gotten to play games I never would have had a chance to see. Pretty fun, even if just for the novelty.

OoT is my favorite game of all time, and MM was almost equally as good, if not better, albeit very "different".

But those were the best two games released on N64, imo. I would say it's worth the $50 considering you can also play all the other games.

I doubt anyone expected it to be the massive hit it's been, the best selling Nintendo home console of all time, and with a good chance at surpassing DS to become the best selling console of all time, period.

Ocarina may have been great at one point, but in my opinion, BotW kind of ruined it. I played Ocarina after BotW and I found myself trying to climb everything, and you can't. Also the world felt small to me. A lot of people still rave about it, but it's a lower tier Zelda game for me. Admittedly, though, I played it immediately after BotW and that probably dramatically changed my impression of the game.

OOT and MM both very good. OOT is still a top game of all time for me, but MM has the most well written and mature story out of all Zelda games IMO and the soundtrack is top notch. Side questing is really great in MM. ahead of its time.

Instead of playing the emulator, I'd recommend picking up the 3D remakes on 3DS. The ports were very well done and the world is more vibrant in both.

I really wish they had done the recent FF pixel remasters in this HD2D style.

I really enjoyed Mario 3d all stars and I wish they would do that with the Zelda 3ds ports and maybe twilight princess

Playing OoT in 1998 was an entirely different experience. At that time, it felt like a whole new world had opened up, much like what BOTW did in 2017.

It's hard to explain the impact it had to those who didn't play it at the time.

I bought 2 of Switches for my kids this past Christmas. I also bought a few of the recommended games: Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Zelda Breath of the Wild.

I'm not a gamer...well I haven't been since I played way too much Starcraft in college in the 90's...but damn that Zelda has sucked me in.

Needless to say, thank goodness I bought 2 of these badboys. Also, having read through this thread, I have no clue how some of you folks find the time to finish this game. I've played often for the past couple of months and I don't think that I'm anywhere near finishing this thing.

Any other similar games out there that I need to get after I finish this one?

I am having fun with Arceus. I have not fought the first boss yet and have well north of 20 hours in the game. Just running around, exploring and catching Pokmon.

Edit to add: My non-gaming wife has played BotW on our WiiU and then restarted and played all the way through in the switch. It is a fantastic game.

I believe MM is the superior game. Ocarina of Time is fantastic and iconic, but I always find myself wanting to go back and play MM more often.

I remember being 11-13 when they first came out.... god, what a different time. I remember any game I got to play I felt was so much fun, but those games were just another level.

It's pretty fun, but in my opinion it's got more of the puzzle stuff going on. You know the shrines in BotW? Fenyx has those, too, and it just seemed to me that throughout my playthrough I was doing way more puzzle stuff than even BotW.

Still fun, just thought I'd throw that out there about it.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land launches on Friday. There's a demo out. My son seemed to love it. Anyone else looking at this one? Reviews look pretty good.


There's a 2 player co op mode and it plays similar to Mario Odyssey control wise -- fully 3d, of course with Kirbys classic gameplay.
