Picked up Links Awakening this morning. Getting some time in before the auburn game

Cool, I recommend a glass screen protector and at least a 256GB MicroSD. 400GB is around $55. I'm waiting for that to get into the $40s this winter. No need for a fast SD. Samsung Ultra works fine.TonsterPS said:

Picked up Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Astral Chain, and I'll pick up BOTW and Mario Odyssey at some point as well. Doing some international traveling these next few weeks, so I figured it would be worth it!
Plan on picking up a case, screen protector, and SD card soon as well. Any suggestions appreciated.
It is for this very reason that my almost 4 year old has only played NES (we have the NES Classic). I am gradually going to introduce new consoles but by golly he needs to have an appreciation for his daddy's roots and know everything that led up to gaming as we know it today!! He has gotten very good (for his age) at Mario 1 and 3 and LOVES Kirby's Adventure. He has figured things out by himself in Mario that I didn't even know about (or had long forgotten about) and my knowledge of those games is fairly expansive.SJEAg said:
My 6 year old (now 7) loves BOTW. After a short learning curve he pretty much mastered it. Played through it twice, once on master mode. I'd occasionally help with some of the shrines (small puzzle based dungeons)...although that was more of a two brains is better than one type situation.
My only caution is starting them off with BOTW may make them jaded towards older games. He just doesn't seem near as into Wind Waker (Wii U version) and I think it's because he got spoiled by the best. I plan to try Awakening with him but not sure how it'll go. He loves all the 3D Mario games going back to Galaxy, but never got too into the modern sidescrollers.
Damn straight. I have the NES Classic (and the NES Classic Virtual thing on the Switch). One of my 6 year old son's favorite games is Tecmo Bowl. It took him a little while to figure it out, and it helped when I got the wireless NES Classic controllers for the Switch. But once he did, that kid has harnessed the power of Bo Jackson. He doesn't win many games, but he racks up the yards and the TDs. "Daddy, daddy! Bo Jackson just got a 97 yard touchdown run!" Makes a proud dad smile.TriumphForks said:

That I did not know. Thank you!Brian Earl Spilner said:
The best Gamecube style controller is the Gamecube controller.
(You just need the usb adapter.)
