I have to imagine those pre-orders either get cancelled or upped to $69, right? I'm kicking myself for not doing it also.
They really put some love into this remaster.
I'm a man in my 40s and have no problem admitting this is what I'm going to get myself for my birthday.
I picked up a switch OLED about 2 weeks ago and I have played more Donkey Kong Country than I care to admit
I recently finished The Minish Cap on GBA Online. Loved it.
As a huge Zelda fan, have to admit it's the first non-3D Zelda I've ever completed. (I had played about half of LTTP and Link Between Worlds.)

Metroid Prime Remastered (physical) out today, but it is sold out everywhere.
Went to Walmart, Target, and GameStop at lunch today. None of them had it.

I recently finished Link's Awakening based on a rec from this thread and really enjoyed it. I had to use more Walthers walk-throughs than I like to admit, but it was mostly for the trading sequence and finding shells. No time to wander around for those.
Playing through LTTP now and may even move on to the early 3D titles. I enjoyed Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time back in the day but didn't have the patience.
Was able to grab one of the last two copies of Metroid Prime Remastered at Walmart this afternoon. They seem to be getting stocked more than Best Buy and GameStop, fwiw.

I was able to place a store pickup order for Metroid on the Best Buy app this morning for March 3rd. I hope it works!
Any initial feedback from those who scored it?
Disclaimer: Metroid Prime was already one of my favorite games of all time.
The Remastered is absolutely fantastic. They went above and beyond for a remaster, it's honestly more remake than remaster. Pretty much every surface in the game has been improved, and everything looks fantastic. Very polished. They could've charged full price and it still would've been worth it. Not to mention playing it with modern dual stick controls feels great.
For those who played the original, it's an awesome remaster that is worth revisiting, and for those that never played the original, it's a no brainier.

My wife and I took off work for my birthday today. The big 4 0, woohoo. After school drop off, I said I wanted to swing by Walmart to see if they had any in stock. Got to electronics, a guy older than us asked what we were looking for. Asked if they had any Metroid Prime Remastered in stock.
"I think we got some this morning, let me check." *scans the empty spot in the game cabinet* "yeah, they're in back, let me go get that for you!"
Freakin SCORE! I've seen a playthrough, so I knew the graphics were great. The dual stick controls are VERY nice. Only gotten to Chozo Ruins, but still a fantastic game all these years later!

FYI to anyone that plays as much Mario Kart as me. The most recent update has made everything more competitive. The ever-present Waluigi/Wiggler combination is no longer the king. I tried a few different combos and I was in the mix for a lot more wins than usual last night.
The new Yoshi's Island course in Mario Kart Wave 4 is awesome. Great music and references to the SNES Yoshi's Island game.

Downloaded Metroid Prime Remastered this weekend, forgot how great that game is. I hope they do the same for the sequels.
One bad thing about Metroid Prime is if you die you go all the way back to your last save point. Gotta remember to save before taking on any bosses.

I'm really hesitant to change a thing with Super Metroid. It's close to perfect in its 16 bit glory.

I only played Super Metroid for the first time right before Dread came out. It instantly vaulted into my top 10 games all time, and that's without nostalgia googles. It's pretty much a perfect game. Music, atmosphere, just the right amount of difficulty. It's a masterpiece.
Immediately played Fusion right after (had it on Wii U eShop) and capped it off with Dread. It's an amazing set of games and especially when played together like that.

Supposedly they are planning to release 2 and 3 on Switch, but not remastered versions. Better than nothing I guess, but disappointed they won't get remastered treatment.Max Power said:

I've never played them but always wanted to. Have an 8 year old daughter I want to get into RPGs and thought these might be a good entry point.
Does it start with the first one? Are they any good? Will we get the point of the plot with this Switch version?

Fingers crossed. I'm stuck right now, having problem with the Elite Pirate. Between him, the phazon pools on the ground, the other pirates dropping in, and him regenerating health, it's a lot of work to do. Can't believe in my three playthroughs of the game that never occurred to me.
I'll definitely try that next time, and I think you're right, omega pirate sounds right.
