TOTALLY stock 2.2 (rooted) and no awake issue yet. Have not plugged in to charge yet.

Going to stay at stock 2.2 for the afternoon (errands) and will put on Fresh 3.2 and kingkernal8 tonight.

Once rooted I know you can remove the PC135.zip(or close to that) file and the rooted 2.2 zip.

can you remove unrevoked .zip?

just read the instructions carefully.

I got tripped up twice:

1) updating to latest HTC sync...and then deleting HTC sync. (it leaves a few files behind)
2) getting the USB driver for unrevoked HBOOT portion.

Other then than, step 1.2.3.etc..

So are there any tricks to SetCPU? I let it auto detect for my device, and initially had the profiles set as they are in the XDA thread on maximizing battery life. But it was horribly slow. So I unchecked profiles and just set a main conservative profile, not overclocked. It's still noticeably slower than without SetCPU, it takes a goof 1-2 seconds to bring up the menu when you long press on a blank spot on the home screen for example.

I might try switching to performance instead of conservative, but I'm wondering if there's something wrong. If it's going to be this unresponsive I'm getting rid of it.

Try interactive. Overclock as much as you can without locking up. I'm at 1.22, but some can't go past 1.15. Set a profile to underclock when your screen is off. If you are still sluggish try a reboot.

Fresh 3.2 is SO worth it. Go donate to Flipz. Had my phone off charger all night (10pm to 6am) started at 90% battery, turned on just now and it is as 86%. A 4% drop in 8 hrs in unheard of with stock 2.2. These cooked time with custom kernels are the real deal and proof positive that you should root!

going from Fresh 3.1 to Fresh 3.2 requires a full data wipe.

Get the Appbrain app and sign up for an account on appbrain dot com. It helps me remember all the apps that i have downloaded. I also do a full backup of data with mybackuppro

My Backup Pro is all you need for a backup. two quick steps and all your data/apps are backed up to your sd card or online.

For 3.2, it's worth it.

when the dev says you need a full wipe, this means you can restore apps but DONT restore data or you could run into serious issues.

I am SO pissed right now. Combine this issue with the idiotic conversation I has with Sprint techs and the shortage of NEW EVO's for exchange and I might just have to jump ship to the EPIC.

that is what I am doing now. I am going to divide my apps into groups. Load up the "essentials" and see if an app keeps it running. and so on....

PITA!!!!!But such is life of the tweaker!

The step before you actually download the app it tells you what the app can control...I am going to eliminate anything that allows the sensor.

Did you watch the video walk-through? I just followed that step by step and used the written instructions as reference when I needed to type in the DOS commands.

Holy crap 4g hotspot is sweet. In Chicago and I paid sprint 30 bucks since my hotel is 15 bucks a day for internet. This is fast.

So everything was good until I did a reboot and now back to 100% awake time. Checking spare parts and no one specific app is showing an issue. Now I am back tracking on the apps I loaded and removing them one at a time and then rebooting to see if I can stop it.

Anyone use handcent SMS? That is the next app to go.

I keep hearing not to use a taskiller with Froyo. I stopped everything after the last rebooth via "running applications" and still it never fell asleep.

I am at a loss. Usually I can find out what it is, but not this time
