It's Android..and it is a finicky biatch!

I am not sure how a PRL or PRI update would do it, but it is all I have done...

I did find out that MEDIA could be a corrupt file on your SD card. A corrupt mp3, mp4 ,etc...and you can get a 100% MEDIA awake. If you have a ton of songs or videos...good luck finding the one that is causing it!

Ok my battery life seems to be getting worse not better. Id like to do a factory reset but I don't want to lose everything.

If I use astro to back up my apps, is there anything else I need to do?

I use MyBackupPro. Backs up my apps as well as my data (SMS, MMS, contacts, etc) and system settings.

This last factory reset, I did not back up my Android settings or phone settings as that is what was most likely messing stuff up.

As for battery life, what does SpareParts say? got something running or keeping your phone awake?

This just in...stealthguards suck. They have a tacky feeling and they're not even well cut on the paper backing. I had to use a razor blade to separate it from the rest of the skin. Not even worth the "shipping" fee. And no matter how many times I install a skin on my phone, I always seem to get at least 1 or 2 microscopic pieces of dust stuck under the skin that bugs the hell out of me. I think I've just decided to go naked from here on out.

So Baseball Stars 2010 is the most addictive cell phone game I have ever played. It's more RPG than sports, and it's a little repetitive, but I probably sat on my couch and played this stupid game for 2 hours last night.

Only downside is that it crashes if you hit your home button or if your phone goes to sleep in the middle of a game. And when I say crash, I mean your entire phone resets after a solid 90 seconds of frozen screen. Even so, it's worth it if you like baseball, and the RPG twist keeps me coming back.

I'd compare it to MLB's Road to the Show on PS3. You create a player, and use training and goals to get his stats up as he matures through the majors. Pretty fun.

Old Ag I agree. Stealth sucked. I'm using a seido case, but I don't have a cover on it. The case feels flimsy but it's actually held up pretty well. It's fallen out of my car twice, and there was no cracking on either occasion.

I've liked my pt case from best buy. Stealth shield screen protector sucked so my screen is exposed. I had a static cling screen guard on my iPhone that I miss.

does the Amzer case shown above bulk up the phone? I was also looking at the Seidio Inno. Active case...Right now I have a plasctic sleeve case that was an eBay cheapy.

Haven't tried GhostArmor but I did try PhantomSkinz. I actually really liked it but sucked at putting it on, thus resulting in stupid little bubbles around little pieces of dirt...drove me crazy.

I just got their "barely there" case...the only thing it's good for is keeping the camera lens off the surface when laid face up. No protection, and, more annoyingly, no flared out opening where you go to pull out the kickstand. I have to use my pinky and dig it in there to get it out. However, the case is well made. I think I'll return it and get the tough case.

edit: scratch that, I just realized that the tough case's hard shell doesn't cover the silicon shell on the screen side. That means, like the body glove case, it won't slide easily into and out of my pocket...back to the drawing board.

the Amzer rubber case is probably the thickness of a dime so there is not much bulkiness about it...

got the stealth guard in the mail yesterday. havent tried to put it on yet.

The zagg screen protector has worked well for me though. Im thinking about using the application kit from the zagg protector to apply the stealth guard

I got an optional voicemail update today that keeps failing during the download, even with Wifi. When I first attempted the download I was in poor service and it failed, hopefully that didn't screw it up. Tried rebooting with no success. I don't even use the native voicemail, I use Google Voice but the notification at the top won't go away. Anyone else run into this?

I have the same VM update that keeps failing. That little VM update icon keeps taunting me in the window shade.

I wound up RUU'ing my EVO tonight to get the 100% awake issue fixed. What a PITA. Reformatted the SD Card, and did an RUU. Hour later, back up and running smoothly...for now.

This kernel has been showing some amazing battery life. It is “stock” so it won't give you overclocking however both myself and freshlyill have gone 1.5 days without charging under normal/medium use.


Unlike my previous roms I have not resigned this rom so a full data wipe is required.
The Evo is still being actively developed by HTC and Sprint which means there are new updates coming out on a fairly regular basis. My resigning the rom allows for extra modifications to be able to be made and allows for new updates without doing a data wipe however ont he flip side it means that I have to resign any new updates from HTC/Sprint before you can use them. For the time being I have decided to put this rom back to HTC's signature so that as new updates are released on the market by Google (like the new voice search and google maps) or by Sprint (like the new VVM) or by HTC (like the new widgets) then you can get them without having to wait on me to release them.
Removed the extra HTC widgets being included by default because this rom is no longer re-signed so you can install them yourself through add widgets.
Updated Sprint Visual Voicemail to v5.1.0.34
Updated Launcher Pro to 0.7.6.0
Updated SuperUser to 2.3.4
Updated DarkTremor apps2sd to 2.7.5 RC3 release C
Updated ES File Explorer to 1.4.5
The following files were changed by the new OTA:
Browser, Calendar, HTC Album, HTC Contacts, Mail, PCSCII, Phone, debuggerd, dmagent, sequansd, a handful of lib files.
There were no new radios with this update.


post #2487 on the official fresh XDA thread (link) suggests it might have fixed the quick battery drop after unplugging...stay tuned

got the donor email as well. Flipz says he is working off an official OTA build (3.28.651.1), so I wonder when Sprint/HTC will release that build.

I would love a fix for the battery drop blues.

when i root my evo, and the "flash" it with a "rom", what happens to all my contacts and apps? I use probackup currently to save everything to the SD card

something everyone should do from time to time is export their gmail contacts so they are safe.

*Log into gmail on your PC.
*Select Contacts
*Click the 'More Actions' dropdown bar and select export
*Select the preferred format (which means the google csv format or the outlook/vcard format for your preference)
*It will download to your PC as 'google.csv', you can open it in excel if you wish. Throw it in your backup drive or directory or phone's SD card for safekeeping
*Optional: rename it with a date so you know when this backup was made, I use a date format like 082810Contacts.csv
