How do you do it then? If I click on Enable USB tether under wireless & networks I get the following error:

Error Code 67. Registration failure. Your PCS Vision username and/or password may be incorrect. Please try again.

I tried it over 4G and received the same message. I called sprint and they told me i need to be on the data plan to usb tether.

Root the phone. If you don't like it, you can always go back to stock.

I think i figured out what was killing my battery after the OTA. I didnt realize that I had to go manually log out of google talk and tell it not to automatically connect again.

my battery life is at 82 percent at 100 when yesterday it was probably already at about 60 percent. and I even started my day earlier today.

reb,

i have to use gtalk unfortunately, unless theres a less network-intensive IM app out there. i need to do some benchmarking of gtalk vs Meebo, etc. or hopefully someone out there will do it for me

reb,
How long do you want to ignore this user?
the unofficial leak from this past friday from engadget?

2.2 hasn't been rooted yet. you'd need to be on 2.1
NoHo Hank

Too be honesty I am not tech savvy enough typo know how to back up my files on a phone. Can you partition the sd card or do you need a separate card/ a computer?
NoHo Hank
How long do you want to ignore this user?
meant to not typo swype gets that mixed up a lot
concac
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Just copy the files on the SD card to your computer.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
You can also use mybackuppro in the market to back up your contacts and apps to the sdcard.
Mr. Snerdley
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Why would you back up contacts?
atmhockey
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Not everyone backs up (syncs) to their Google Account. You can back up outlook or facebook contacts.

You can also use the backup porgrams to make copies of your texts, phone logs, etc...good on the blackmail!

Had to do a battery pull in order to get "android system" from keeping a 100% awake time...

okay boys, whats up? what did you do with your phone this weekend?

I am having a horrible hell of a time with DolphinHD on Froyo. Clicking links either don't work or take pressing them a few times, rendering the experience a frustration. Other people seem to have this issue with froyo as well. The dev said a 'big update' was coming within a few weeks, so hopefully this will fix this issue. So I'm temporarily switching to Opera.

I'm also having an issue with when I hit 'home' or back out of an app, 20% of the time, ill get the white htc evo screen then the homescreens redraw like I had just booted up. Most annoying. I spent yesterday backing up and anticipate doing a full factory wipe/flash tonite, which from what I read has a 95% chance of solving that.

Here's an app to check out if you are like me and are an expert at losing track of where you parked your car: Carr Matey. It lets you mark your cars location (drop anchor), input lot info if there is any (for example, blue lot or lot 7 in "harbor", then when you want to go back to your car, it will either give you walking directions or use a navigating compass to guide you (find vessel).

Its pretty damn cool and obviously has the amusing Pirate theme.

Also, I've been waiting for an app like this: Live TV. Don't know how long its been out, but basically it uses justin.tv and channelsurfing.net to watch TV. Has ABC/NBC/ESPN/all the usual ones.

Same prob with Dolphin.
TefIon Don

Yeah Dolphin was doing the same with me. I'll switch to Opera.

I have found with froyo, the stock browser to be pretty snappy. But dolphin is my go to...

How long do you want to ignore this user?
No problems with Dolphin for me. Had a weird experience last night though. I went to bed almost fully charged, and this morning the battery was at about 10%. As far as I could tell nothing was running, and everything was off except for 3g. The phone was really slow and unresponsive. Linpack was giving me results of 2-3 when I normally get 40-45. Luckily a reboot fixed the problem, but I still wonder WTF happened.

My EVO is being shipped today! I should get it tomorrow or Thursday.

Then you can expect some newbie questions. But I will try to educate myself first.

Same here. I switched to stock browser for a bit, but I just don't like the layout, I'm used to Dolphin's.

@seennotheard

buy a case. learn from my mistakes. that 4.3" screen is less impressive when it's been bashed in a bit.
CalAG
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I agree with MW03. BUY A CASE. Mine has a nice crack across the bottom from a drop of about 2 feet onto concrete. I need to replace it under the repair program, just haven't had time.

I only have a few dozen apps installed and I'm getting a low space notification. When I go to "manage applications" and view all the largest is contacts storage 145MB, then Dolphin HD 52MB, Google Earth 22MB, a dozen between 3 and 9MB, and the rest all under 3MB. If the internal storage is 1GB, I should be nowhere near that full, MAYBE halfway there. Maybe only about half of the internal memory is usable? What's the deal with this - anyone else run into it?

After the update, I see that most of my apps can be clicked on within the manage apps menu and be moved to SD card. Unfortunately, the first 6 in the list, which make up the majority of my usage, have that option grayed out. What to do?

EDIT: I just went through and moved almost all the apps that could be moved over to the SD card. I now have 50MB free. That still seems really low, but I guess it'll be good enough for now. Is there any way to mount the phone and see the contents on the internal memory on a PC? All I can see is the SD card.

reb,
How long do you want to ignore this user?
that is way too big for dolphin.

to free up room, you can clear the cache of dolphin and other apps. warning: if you do something like clear the cache of HTC Sense it will wipe home screens. But dolphin and other things should be fine. I'd use the bookmarks2sd add-on to dolphin in case it'd make you lose those.

if you are rooted, check out CacheMate. sets up automatic cache clearing on time intervals and also a widget
