Terrible. Typically your mind on something like this at that age goes to drugs or suicide, but hate to assume either. I know he'd been trying to get back from injury. We'll see.

But can't rule out others until there's confirmation…

Absolutely tragic to hear this from a humanity point of view. From a Cowboys perspective, a guy that I had high hopes for becoming a solid pro.

Seeing a lot of unconfirmed reports on X about what happened. Not going to post here because it's all just speculation and I want to be respectful. But sometimes where there's smoke, there's fire.

Sounds like police showed up at his house for a welfare check last night and found him.

Reading threads on Reddit...definitely does not appear to be a traffic accident...sound nefarious...
This is just a good reminder to everyone to take care of yourself. Mentally, physically, emotionally; go get help if you think you need it. We live in a boiling, pressurized cauldron of a society these days that's affects everyone in a ton of different ways. Be a decent human, help others and take care of yourself.
I'm reading online that the DFW Police was called to his house for a welfare check around 11:40pm last night. This doesn't bode well for it being an accident

Need to edit this slightly and say that it does not appear that he was killed in a traffic accident specifically...whether a traffic incident was involved somehow in leading up to his death is not clear...

Nick Harris is a reasonably reliable/connected reporter. A welfare check would indicate probably self-inflicted. What we don't know is did anything else lead up to it?

The TMZ link has audio from police dispatch.
Why can't we find that press release from any reputable sources? I assume more will come out soon...

So it sounds like "911" calls were made for his welfare... police were dispatched to his home to try and find him but he wasn't home. They eventually found him driving his vehicle and they attempted to pull him over but he wasn't having it. They disengaged and ended the pursuit (which was the right call). He later crashed and then took his life.
Obviously none of it is confirmed, but that's what I'm piecing together. I just can't imagine.
