Episode 8 has one chance to pull this whole season out of the abyss. Cause after last night, we are in this weird limbo, no one knows exactly what is going on, there is this cast of wild characters making fools of themselves and everyone is thinking PLEASE GOD let this end. Basically its CATS.

I just remember Aemond threatening Aegon while he was in bed recovering. Seemed like he was physcologically torturing him.
I took that as a wink wink "You didn't see anything" - he put some physical pressure on him to help drive the point home- but didn't intend to kill him - just wanted to make sure he would keep his mouth shut.
I was under the impression that Aemond wanted to kill him in KL, too. Maybe that is just what Lorys had Aegon (and me) convinced was true?
Larys Strong hearing a few days later that Sunfyre was alive, showed up, and burned King Aegon's enemies to death in the woods.

Yeah, that sounds right - Larys kidnapped him because he said Aemond was going to kill him - I don't think he had physically tried yet, but the intent was there and it was a matter of time.
I'm just glad Caraxes finally got ahold of Sheepstealer. They were dog cussing each other in that cave and Caraxes been waiting for his chance to throw down.
IMO it's not excellent source material. Reread F&B. Characters do nothing for months on end in this time period.

I really liked this episode, despite the disjointedness.
Yeah, Talk the Thrones recap mentioned the dragon fight last night was a show only event, the entire Sheepstealer storyline is different any ways. Did hear a Nettles mention thrown in for an easter egg

I mean you're right, but you can't disagree that there are a LOT of key events that they somehow are going to squeeze into next season.
I don't see how they do it cleanly. There's too much. This show could use 5 seasons imo.
I fear it won't end cleanly. It will be a disjointed, clumsy and ham-fisted mess.
My dilemma is I love the Westeros universe, but I am starting to hate this show.
I love the lore, geography, ruling families, mysticism, political intrigue, moral ambiguity, subversion and cinematic scale.
I cannot overlook this show's poor writing and character development.

I've been pretty jaded with the Alicent - Rhaenyra story, Rhaenyra - Mysaria, Aemond - Allicent (gross) arcs.
Just a lot of weird storylines that aren't compelling and just uncomfortable.

I thought the "You'll always be a *****" scene was unnecessary and way too on the nose.

I liked her getting called out right to her face though. She's become one of my least favorite characters, maybe even tied with Alys, lol
