You just seem like a miserable person.

I don't know. It just didn't look good in my opinion. How does that make me a miserable person.

Well we'll see. Doesn't matter; lots of terrible movies had promising trailers and a few great movies had awful trailers.

My prediction for the fallout show's plot is "in a world in which nearly everybody is dead, and most of the people still alive are zombies, cannibals, or psychopathic murderous drug addicts (fiends), the real problem is rich people stomping on the little guy and holding back #GirlBosses." Which, I expect, will make for a dog meat (lol) show.

I get what you are saying and I think Hollywood is interjecting a lot of unnecessary story lines into entertainment and I think this will be the plot.

But this story is often a frequent plot point of the games. From the Overseers in the Vaults and Gizmo in Fallout 1 to Vault City, New Reno, and the Enclave in Fallout 2. This is most of the story in New Vegas. Fallout has always had "political" themes to it.

In the games you can play as a female character, so even the "boss girl" vibe can be true depending on how you played.

The key to me is if it can tell these stories with the wry edge the games managed. Plus from the trailer it looks like this vault dweller is going to have a pretty rough time at it and suffer for her victories.

I just want it to be good and entertaining.

Not to mention playing as a female character lets you have the incredible Black Widow perk

Agree.

I see what Deputy Travis Junior is saying, but it very much depends where the showrunner's and writers' motivation comes from. Fallout is a world that truly examines the dregs of what humanity can be. There are many factions, but each faction has its shades of grey. We are given the point of view from others in the wasteland, and the factions themselves. This makes for a better game when you make the hard decisions. Should you join the Brotherhood or fight it? That kind of comes down to each person's own worldview. The Fallout games don't take that as an opportunity to preach at us as to which was the right choice and what we should think.

From the interviews i've seen, they seem to be trying to capture that same spirit of the game. Make the choices hard for us as the audience to decide on. Make these characters human, and not simply black and white. All of these interviews also keep parroting this idea of being true to the source material and bringing the fans something they will love. This is very different from other series we have seen **Cough, cough... the Witcher, cough**

As for male vs female, I actually tend to play female characters more often in Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, so it really doesn't matter to me. Again, you can make a great female lead if you aren't just giving us a Mary Sue, which it doesn't seem like we are getting. The simple fact is the only constant in the Fallout universe is that of a noob in the wasteland trying to grow and figure things out. They seem to make a point in the trailers that the female vault dweller is in over her head.

However, this seems to also be a show with 3 main points of view, so we should get to see a lot of great stuff. I'm honestly more intrigued with the Ghoul story line and the BoS story. We've never really gotten much from the perspective of a Ghoul in the games (at least FO3, FONV, and FO4). And then casting Walton Goggins as the Ghoul? Sign me up for that *****

As to the BoS storyline, if they try to make some self-righteous statement about the Brotherhood and simply make them bad guys, I will be the first one on this thread saying this series is trash.

I just cannot imagine how any fan of the games can watch these trailers and call them "ass". The trailers have literally been the games brought to life. The visuals, the music, the atmosphere... these have all been on point. Are you justified in being cautious and a little scared they will screw it up? Of course. But calling what we've seen "ass"? That's just simply being a bitter and miserable person.

Im just hoping there will be some NCR and Enclave related stuff. At this point i find the BoS the least interesting faction.

I enjoyed ep. 1 also, but it's hard to capture the same excitement of the gameplay by being a passive viewer.
I bet some of those old songs see an uptick in their downloads from some of the youngsters.

Showed my wife the trailer so I am on pause until she decides if she is watching with me or not. Two strikes against it with the rad roaches and Goggins' noseless ghoul face.
Well that does not bode well for her watching then. My wife said as graphic as the game is, it is a diff level watching it when it is not a game. I on the other hand enjoyed how they stayed true to it.

Just finished episode 1. Other than the ridiculous "they" crap, i thought it captured everything I'm looking for.

They really made the Knights seem even more badass than the game does. I just hope they don't make Maximus a deer in headlights wimp for the entire show. Way to much like Fin from Star Wars.

The opening scene was great, the tone is spot on, all the Easter eggs have been awesome.

On to Ep2. I'm in for the binge. Let's see how late I stay up!

Just finished the first two episodes. I enjoyed both episodes. The tiny details and music you come to expect from playing a Fallout game are all there. The gore is hilariously over the top, which is faithful to the game. Goggins is being his regular awesome self. I really like the main actress. Only minor complaint is some rough CGI in places. The Yao guai looked noticeably bad.

They don't spend a lot of time world building. Maybe it comes later, but it might throw people off who are not familiar with the games.

Fallout games have always been weird, pulpy, and ultra-violent and so far they are capturing that essence.

Also just wrapped up the first episode. This is a really ****ing good start. Very faithful to the experience in the game

Episode 1 captured the tone perfectly.
Santa Monica pier wasteland style looks awesome too

Also, I realized that dude in the wanted poster is the guy from LOST. I can't recall seeing him in any other shows since then. Crazy

I love the comically large BoS backpacks that allow for carrying way too much stuff through the wasteland. And Goggins'throwaway line about getting sidetracked from your main mission.
