That was an outstanding nine episodes. The finale is a master class in suspense. Honestly, the show could stand as canonical 2020s TV without another season. Wow wow wow.

I havent read the thread. I have 2 episodes left so I will be back, but had to post this bc I laughed out loud on episode 8.

Irv moving in slow motion while Dylan held those switches had me pissed OFF.
I am just nitpicking but a very easy task for any of them would have been to go in with a plan to immediately write a note to their outie explaining the situation, THEN go around looking for someone to tell.

Is there a strategic reason for Dylan to have requested the 3D model of the group as his gift? Or was that just him wanting to remember the team

Also, Are we to take it that the show is set in current time? Obviously inside they are working in a very 50s/60s aesthetic but it seems like the cars and style and whatnot outie are old too

Here's what I'd previously read. Mark's DL showed a birthdate of 1978 with a March 2020 expiration. They call it a retro-futuristic 1950s aesthetic.

Nah, I need her to balance out my inner nerd. She's just not into sci-fi. Period pieces are her thing. I keep telling her that a lot of sci-fi is just period pieces set in the future, but she doesn't go for it.

The technology aspect is just a device to get deeper into the philosophical conversation around what "the you you are" is.

Maybe I'll try that angle but I doubt it works. The only sci-fi I can think of she's ever liked is The Matrix. Original. She didn't watch sequels.

Just finished the first season. One thing I noticed after reading the thread is I feel like we're missing something with Irv. Between him keeping himself awake to dream at work, painting that hallway with the elevator, and having names of severed coworkers and their homes mapped out, something is going on with him.
And that may be the best episode of any show I've seen. Makes me wish I would have waited longer to find this show so I wouldn't have to wait for season 2….kinda
There's definitely a tear/leak in his severance. The black paint his outie uses so lavishly was coming through as a hallucination for his innie.
Yeah, looked to me the hallway he paints is the same that Gemma/Ms. Casey leaves through when she's "let go". Irv has possibly been fired/terminated/removed from the severed floor before and his innie brain reset or rebooted?

Just finished the season. Wow! Starts off a little slow, but every episode is better than the one before. I literally screamed out loud at the end of episode 8, and several times in episode 9 as things were revealed. So well done.
I also read plot summaries on Wikipedia after each episode to make sure I didn't miss anything. Mainly, I didn't catch what Irv was painting, and I didn't realize that Casey was Mark's dead wife when it was revealed. I'm not that great at recognizing faces...
Anyway, the payoff was so worth it, and I can't wait for season 2.
