No, I was as shocked as anyone to see seats left, but I managed to get four decent seats together online. I'm guessing Thursday and Friday are sold out, but Saturday somehow isn't completely sold out yet.
Be careful because that place is in a pretty bad neighborhood from what I understand. I guy named Hedy Lamarr....oh wait, my mistake Hedley Lamarr was shot outside of the Grumman Chinese Theater over a box of Rasinets.TCTTS said:

I'm definitely getting old because my first reaction to this statement was that it would be really easy to do.DVC2010 said:
Well yeah. Otherwise you have to avoid the internet altogether for a couple of days.
The shock value of seeing Thor defeated already, followed by Hulk getting dominated in about 60 seconds, was a nice touch, I thought.fightinags2013 said:
Looking forward to the teased Iron Man/Cap/Thor vs Thanos fight.
Really, getting to see a more extended Thor vs Thanos in general should be awesome. That fight getting more or less skipped in the beginning of Infinity War was really one of the only things that bugged me about the movie.
Once you reach a certain age (and I'm way past it) that is absolutely the truth unless the fights are short and really cool (Cap 2 in the elevator). I literally fell asleep during Starlord/Captain Ron punchfest 2000 in GOTG2Fightin TX Aggie said:The shock value of seeing Thor defeated already, followed by Hulk getting dominated in about 60 seconds, was a nice touch, I thought.fightinags2013 said:

Let me say something unpopular: too many fight scenes in movies like this make them worse movies.
All part of the plan......Quote:
I'm so confused but so incredibly curious to see how this all plays out. Cannot wait...

So is this beating out IW's OW? Thoughts?

True, but I'm assuming Infinity War and The Force Awakens did the same thing?

i'm not sure how anybody who felt motivated to go see IW on opening weekend wouldn't also feel compelled to do so for Endgame. i think the fear of being spoiled is going to convince a bunch of others to go who might not otherwise be inclined to go opening weekend.
i think the biggest think working against it is the longer run time which should result in fewer showings. the obvious solution would be to have it on more screens at the theaters. while i know theaters don't get as much of the "take" on opening weekends, they'll still clean up on concessions.
I think Ep IX has an uphill battle before it (and I am not saying anything at all about the potential quality of the film). I think TLJ and Solo took some of the shine off the franchise in a lot of people's minds and there may be some reluctance on some people's parts to see this movie in theaters. Not a huge amount, but enough to keep the movie from reaching the box-office heights of the previous films and the Avengers movies.Brian Earl Spilner said:
The runtime is basically the main reason I think it doesn't quite beat out IW. But it's definitely within the realm of possibility. If it does do it, I think it'll be by a few million at most.
The real interesting thing to me, is whether or not Ep IX will break whatever the new record is.
Pretty sure it was just TLJ, because it seems like everyone that saw Solo really liked it. TLJ just killed the desire for people to go see another SW movie, especially so soon.Quote:
