I only watched the clip once but I recall hearing a lot of background noise that sounded like gunshots or something. I'm not sure if the riddler has henchmen but he could have corralled them. Ie they ran off and then wwre blocked by henchmen. I am probably not correct though.

Here's some great rules for both of y'all:
1. Don't bait each other.
2. Don't take the bait.

Agreed. I'm trying to understand the red/fire design motif, as nothing in the trailer suggests that the movie itself has a red tint/tone or that fire plays a prominent role in the plot. If anything, it's the exact opposite, as part of the Riddler's plots seems to involve water and the flooding Gotham to a degree. It just feels inconsistent, that's all, and is especially frustrating when the trailers are all-timers and the movie itself looks absolutely stunning, like so much care went into it all. Yet all of the posters have felt like an afterthought, basically.

The red tint/tone is taken straight from the comics & animated series

Very Burton/Elfman-esque, almost like something out of Edward Scissorhands…

This movie is gonna rock.

Early projections have it opening at $150M+. They were around the same for Spiderman at this point.

I think it could hit 185-190 if reviews are really good.

I imagine it will also have to do with rewatchability, and how 'down' the movie makes you feel.

I know I'm headed to see it at least twice, and I haven't seen a movie in theaters in two years. I'll go to the first showing possible by myself, and again the following week with my wife.

With it being 3 hours long I need to see it twice because I'll probably use the bathroom twice.

There's also quite a bit of light humor in this movie, from the clips that I've seen. Mainly between Alfred and Bruce and Selina and Bruce.

And that's why I hope the throw the Phoenix Joker in the garbage. Do not bring it into this universe. I have zero desire to see that ever again.

I don't need every superhero film to have a funny moment to be good. It's what marvel is good at but other films tend to try too hard and are awkward about it trying to copy marvel.

I feel like ever since GOTG came out, Disney has tried to copy that type of humor into every other movie or tv show in both Marvel and Star Wars, even when it's not that type of movie. Batman doesn't need humor.

I appreciate some good dark humor though. Not the fin type they have in gotg. I wouldn't hate batman making some super dark joke.

Yes, just about every version of Batman (movies, animated series) there is humor present in Batman. It's not going to be the same as Guardians of the Galaxy, but it should be there.

Right, Batman can be funny, but it's usually not because Bruce/Batman is making a joke... it's because of how his deadpan seriousness plays off of other characters or situations. Love this scene with GL.

It's just to provide levity, but I agree.

They do say it's not Batman cracking jokes. If it was then I would be turned off by the movie.

It's stuff like the "you've got a lot of cats" and Catwoman asking "are you hideously scarred under there?", not GotG or Ragnarok.

100% agree with this about Disney. Literally everything they've done it seems since GOTG has been trying to reach that level of humor.

Batman doesn't need that, but there is still a place for some humor there and its like jeffk said.

"I watched a rough cut of the movie by myself. And the first shot is so jarring from any other Batman movie that it's just kind of a totally different pace," Pattinson said. "It was what Matt was saying from the first meeting I had with him: 'I want to do a '70s noir detective story, like "The Conversation."' And I kind of assumed that meant the mood board or something, the look of it. But from the first shot, it's, 'Oh, this actually is a detective story.'

Pattinson continued, "I feel like an idiot, because I didn't even know that Batman was 'the world's greatest detective'; I hadn't heard that in my life before - but it really plays. Just 'cause there's a lot of stuff where he's in amongst the cops. Normally, when you see Batman he arrives and beats people up. But he's having conversations, and there are emotional scenes between them, which I don't think have been in any of the other movies."

What many Batman purists have pined for.

Anyone get tickets to the March 1st showings? They went on sale at 11:00. I went at 11:15 and all but the first two rows were sold out. Guess I'll wait until the Thursday showings.

Scratch that! Got tickets for 3/1 at 7pm! Pumped.

I was able to grab tickets for the first as well! I'm planning on grabbing tickets on opening night also.
