I can't get over how cool the new Batcave is. Looks like it's in a grand, abandoned subway? I assume Wayne owns the building above it, potentially, and has the area sealed off somehow?
As someone who's a huge Batman fan but feels like nothing so far, even Nolan's very good films, have quite gotten it right...TCTTS said:

Yes! I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of, and I settled on Nite Owl's lair from Watchmen. But that's totally it. Good call.

Nolan's films were great and the best we've gotten. BUT
-We've never seen detective Batman. Not really.
-Nolan is honestly not a great fight choreography director. Most of Bale's fights were bad.
-Didn't like the throat cancer Batman voice.
Best part about Batman is the rouges gallery.
Joker, Bane, Scarcrow, Two face and Ra's have all been done well.
Riddler, Red Hood, Freeze, Hush, Court of Owls and Hugo Strange deserve a similar treatment.
Supposedly we will see a large rogues gallery for this movie. It's almost like it was the most well thought out Batman movie.

I haven't been on this thread at all, but stopped in after watching the trailer. Seven was totally the vibe I got from the trailer, and I've always thought the city Seven took place in was the perfect Gotham setting.

The only thing I don't care as much for, and this is being very picky, is the bat costume. The chest is much smaller than typical and the whole thing has a Netflix Daredevil feel.
That said, I think it fits really well with the feel of the rest of the movie.

So, after about my 20th rewatch of the trailer, I'm almost positive Michael Giacchino's score, first featured in the camera test / costume reveal (below), is actually derived from Nirvana's "Something in the Way." The way the song and the theme blend in the trailer, it's unmistakable. Listen to the camera test score, then listen to the guitar, specifically, in the Unplugged performance, and then listen to how perfectly they're blended and evolved in the trailer. In other words, I think it's more than just a moody song they chose to put over some footage for FanDome. A Nirvana single is basically the musical theme/inspiration for a Batman movie, which is crazy and cool on so many levels...
That was shockingly good. And that music blend as TC described... damn. I would really like a copy of that song lol.
Long awaited Batman version we all were looking for. DARK KNIGHT came very close and is still an amazing movie...but damn this one looks much grittier.
Definitely has me interested.
The one concern I have is Riddler, Penguin, and Catwoman in one movie. I feel like a common characteristic of bad super hero movies is too many villains. To have all three of those and flush them out to full and interesting characters has me a little worried.

Hopefully Penguin and Catwoman are just introduced or play only smaller roles in this one, setting them up to be the main villains in later movies.
I think Farrell has said that Penguin is not a main focus at all.

Selina will probably be an ally or minor love interest.
Cobblepot will be a secondary antagonist at the beginning to set up Batman's vibe with criminals.
Riddler will be the main part.
Man, I'm going to have to pull out Long Halloween and read it again.
I had forgotten about the Holiday killer and the monthly murders. Really hoping it provided a lot of inspiration for this Batman film.

And I and others have said before, Court of Owls would make for a fantastic Bat-film.
Man it looks so damn good. Definitely feels like it pulls from The Long Halloween in a way. Wright and Serkis are going to be great castings.

Just based on the vibe of everything we've seen so far, I really think this movie might be able to overtake The Dark Knight as the best CBM ever. Really hope it lives up to the hype.
So there's apparently been confirmation that Joker does not exist in this Batman universe, but it's interesting that the thugs from the trailer look very Joker-esque.
Just watched it again on TV now that it is released. Christ, this looks awesome.
I don't think DC officially recorded any of their Fandome panels but they're around if you do a bit of searching, and hearing Matt Reeves talk about this has me seriously excited for this film. It's not an origin for Batman, it's year 2, and like Batman all these other characters are not yet who they're going to become. It also sounds like we'll finally get a deep dive into the corruption in Gotham that has always been at the heart of Batman. Very worth a watch.
My only complaint is that pattinsons bruce wayne doesn't look very bruce wayne
