I actually thought the fight scene at the end of season two was kind of well done and entertaining. Also I enjoy the storyline but yeah definitely some bad acting.
Johnny was ALSO 2 time All valley under 18 Karate Champion. the two years before Daniel arrived. Johnny told that to Miguel, but since Johnny's car dealership isn't the main sponsor they don't mention it.ramblin_ag02 said:
I crack up every time someone mentions that Daniel is "The 2 time All Valley under 18 Karate Champion" like he won an Olympic medal or something
When did Daniel win the 2nd time? Was that in KK3? I think I may have seen that one once, so I forget everything about it.Sarduakar said:Johnny was ALSO 2 time All valley under 18 Karate Champion. the two years before Daniel arrived. Yes KK3.
Daniel returns from Okinawa and they set up a bonsai shop. Kreese's buddy, who is extremely wealthy, recruits some karate ringer to bully Daniel, destroy their shop etc etc. Daniel befriends the new cobra commander and starts training under him. They resolve it at the tournament.
Ringing any bells?
Vaguely. Is it worth watching again? Sounds pretty bad.The Debt said:aTmAg said:When did Daniel win the 2nd time? Was that in KK3? What was the reference? I already watched Cobra Kai. I almost certainly missed it.SJEAg said:
It's bad...but sort of in good bad movie way. I think I enjoyed it more than KK2.
And it gets referenced in Cobra Kai....well, once anyway in a rather humorous scene.
This was indeed what I was referencing. I just found it amusing when Johnny was like "I don't even know who that is?!!!" when the tourney board was referencing the main bad guy in KK3.Sarduakar said:
Well this isnt what he is talking about, but the reason Cobra Kai is banned from the tournament is what happens at the end of KK3.
That's my favorite episode of the whole series. The end is awesome.bigtruckguy3500 said:
I'm on episode 5, and this is awesome! Watching on Netflix.
Terry Silver - the rich bad guy from KK3- is just so much fun to watch. He's ridiculously over the top and seems to love it.KidDoc said:
I'm on ep 3 or 4 of season 2 and loving this.
I don't remember KK2 or KK3 at all! Maybe I will have to find those and watch them someday. Johnny is awesome.

Edit. Oh never mind you meant KK3. I thought you meant Cobra Kai.
think it's fair to say Barney Stinson on HIMYM wanted this. Redemption for the true Hero of KK finally. Team Johnny!!!!!

Would it be really really bad if I told the board I enjoy CK wayyyyyy more than any of the Karate Kid movies?

The leaders into season 2 show these two things perfectly.Gigem314 said:
They do a good job of showing Daniel's flaws...he's not the perfect hero we like to remember from the movies (though he wasn't perfect in the movies either). His wife's character fits in well here, because she's the one that can call him out when he goes too far.
I like what they've done with Johnny's character. Underneath the tough outer layer he wants to help these kids and be a good guy...he just wants to do it with some edge and give the finger to the modern PC mindset. He also wants to be a good father deep-down. He's not the villain. He's complicated.
The whole point of the series was that you can be tough, and defend yourself, without being toxic.Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:
How glad are producers and makers of this show that the original Karate Kid didn't take Johnny's "badguyness" to another level? Like make him truly evil?
They made him just the right amount of heel in the movie to make this new series work imho.
