I just watched 8 of 10 episodes and cannot believe how good this. I have an authentic Johnny Lawrence karate gi that I've worn on multiple Halloweens so obviously a huge fan of the original like the rest of us but this is just amazing.

As previously noted, perfect mix of nostalgia and juxtaposition with how different the world is now 30 years later with the advancement of technology. The writing is really good and it's funny as hell. Two fists up for sure

Holy crap, I'm amazed at how much I love this! I'm 5 or 6 episodes in and I'm telling everybody about it. The scene when Daniel puts on his old outfit with the old music playing... Yeah, my "allergies" totally got to me. And the 80s montage of the kid getting stronger... Sheesh, they are pulling on my childhood memories.

Friggin awesome. I'm curious if it resonates with people that don't love the original... But as for me, this is greatness!

I just watched episode 7 and really enjoyed that one. Johnny's little snide comments crack me up.

Wow.....I enjoyed the Mr. Miyagi part but the part that really got me was.....Ep. 8/9 with Daniels mom (same lady Randee Heller)) back and then stopping by the old apartment after the car ride with Johnny (REO speedwagon duet - lol). Lots of memories.

Damn this is a good series...like revisiting my own teens years I was exactly their age at the time of KK.

Yeah well it's a well balanced show and plot actually - they both have good and bad characteristics.

Much more of a balanced story than KK was.... you see both sides of both of them at times. And lots of things happen (and have happened) to both that are revealed.

I'm on my phone so I can't spoiler tag... So I'll refrain.

But holy crap, that was everything I could possibly hope for in a karate kid sequel. I'm rooting for both sides, and that's awesome. That really is balance. Sorta how Star Wars is preaching the same message... Good, bad, it's all a part of life, just have balance.

I love the 80s references, I love how they brought story lines together and against each other.

Bravo, tip my hat to the writers... Bring on season 2!

5 episodes in and this show is easily the 2nd best thing done in the franchise. I was expecting this to be awful, and I'm shocked that I'm enjoying this. It's nostalgic without trying to beat you over the head with nostalgia.

Watched all 10 straight through. Just too good to stop. The Karate Kid came out when I was in middle school and has always been a favorite of mine. As an 80s kid this movie hit the right notes.

Loved Johnny's coaching style!

Some of my favorite parts:

Golf N Stuff - With the original music!!!

John friggin Kreese shows up at the end... WOW! I really hope Bobby / Tommy / Dutch show up in season 2!!!

Daniels daughter foreshadowing her joining the fight... easy prediction she'll eventually get matched against her old friend.

Great directing at the part where Johnny see's the little kid with his dad and then it shows him at the front door asking for a 2nd chance... then you see it's not his son's door, but Miguel's.

And the absolute most nails part of the entire series is Daniel finding his balance and putting on the old headband... his old gi hanging on the wall behind him... with the old theme song playing in the back ground. Hells yes!!!!!

And I almost forgot... not the best part, but definitely the part where I laughed at how cheesy it was... when Daniel claps / rubs his hands together and then calls for a medic! LOL!!!

That season was great. I can't believe they were able to make a show where they make us like William Zabka. Frankly, the biggest surprise for me was that his acting was able to carry a whole season.

It's the Karate Kid mixed with Bad News Bears.

The acting all around has been very good.

My favorite part was when that tiny kid got destroyed in the tournament.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I always liked Johnny the best in Karate Kid. Ask my little brother who would tell you he got familiar with lines like 'another front kick Johnny' or 'you couldn't leave well enough alone could ya ya little twerp? Well now you're gonna pay!' I think my brother still has nightmares if he watches karate kid

Daniel should have left the radio on the ground at the beach and let Johnny talk to his girl. And then he sucker punches Johnny? Well that deserved a butt kicking. And who runs a hose on a guy on the John?!

Johnny was awesome.

The Johnny perspective is something I have come o realize as I have grown older. Daniel was a punk. So was Johnny.

The writers of this series nailed it.

I have never enjoyed a tv show more.
