Fun movie. Much better than 2 and 3, had lots of nostalgic nods to the original I loved. The story was OK, maybe a little too similar to 1, but if you just want a movie about dinosaurs wreaking havoc, it's great. I wish they'd stuck go back to animatronics rather than CG, though.

I was entertained by 3, so it's probably safe to assume I will enjoy Jurassic World?

Do they play the original John Williams theme at any point? It'd be worth it just for that.

The third act of the film is absurd, even by JP standards. There were audible laughs at the final twenty minutes, due to its utter ridiculousness. The film is worth seeing if you're a fan, but don't go in expecting anything above average.

What's the youngest audience you'd consider it acceptable for?

Are you talking about when the kid called in Iron Man and Rocket came to StarLord's aid?! Because that was just about the mad-tightest a movie like this could be!

It's PG-13. Other than a few minor vulgarities here and there "Sh/t" "Damn" "hell", it's only that way due to the blood/guts. As far as "What age...?", you'd have to decide. I'd think a 10+ yr old would be ok seeing it.

I really enjoyed it. It was fun. The graphics were amazing and Bryce Howard is always fun to look at. I'm glad I didn't pay for the IMAX or 3D too. Like I said, it was a fun and inventive way of continuing the concept. They brought a lot more elements from the second book into this film. And there was an enormous amount of throwback to the original film. Chris Pratt was great and not cheesy at all. The only character I didn't like was D'Onofrio's. While it was necessary for the story, it was a forgettable character. Plus, I still see him as Wilson Fisk. But all in all, it's a fun movie.

One thing I didn't realize...how big Pratt actually is.

When I saw D'Onofrio, I knew he was 6'4". And Pratt looked pretty much eye-to-eye with him, as did the black guy. They're listed as 6'2" and 6'2.75" respectively. But, last night on Conan, Pratt came out and looked to be as tall, if not taller, than Conan. And they both had on similar dress shoes, so that wasn't it.

Were there dinosaurs in the third act? Yes? Well, then it was badass.

It wasn't as good as the original and it was never going to be, but it was easily the second best of the franchise. There were some absurd moments and some of the jokes worked and some didn't, but the eye rolling moments didn't really bother me. The movie kind of reminded of a bigger budgeted Syfy monster movie where it was at times, trying to be over the top and campy. It's not a smart movie, which will turn some people off, but if your able to leave your brain at the door, you'll have a good time.

Posted this in the other thread, so I'll put it here too:

I really enjoyed it. Didn't think it was as hokey as some have said. I was a little worried after seeing the preview scene at Pratt's trailer, but I thought he and Howard were good. And I was definitely rooting for a dino attack to befall D'onofrio.

The dinosaur scenes/battles were well done and engaging. The I Rex decloaking, if you will, in front of the containment team was very cool. It wasn't up there with the original obviously, but overall very good.

The 70% RT rating was about right. Good not great. Pratt did great as did Ron Howard's daughter.

Ending scene was epic. Definitely doors WIDE open for a sequel

Enjoyed it a lot, 70-75 on RT seems just about right. I saw it in 3D but didn't get much bonus out of that so I'd recommend 2D (I didn't see it at an IMAX though)

the Dino scenes and the major characters arcs it was fine, some great effects of course. great finale.

just an odd bunch of mismtched little tangents that never amounted to anything:

- the parents divorce was just a vehicle to get them to the island without parents i guess

- the over emotional mom freaking out (before any dino issues) about leaving her kids alone (in an amusement park)....saying how it was supposed to be a family vacation...ummmm if its a family vacation how about you and your husband suck it up for the kids sake and take them

- no great dialogue scenes like previous JP movies, nothing profound, closest is 2 boys talking about divorce but basically the big brother tells him to grow up

- the romance was forced and out of the blue it seemed

- the side characters are not fleshed out at all...Dr. Wu especially semed just set up for sequel of course. Even Hoskins from I-gen though was a weird iterjection of a major actor that went nowhere. Also the owner was a weird role.

don't get me wrong, it was a fun ride, just the sequences between were confusing more than anything. also lots of easter eggs for fans of the original to spot.

There's a time to proclaim sh*t like this, and there's a time to not. Lord knows I've railed hard against certain blockbusters before, but this wasn't THAT bad. Not by a long shot. If this was easily one of the worst movies you've ever seen, I'll assume you've seen maybe only five movies.

All in all, this was actually better than I was expecting. Sure, there were a ton of flat scenes, and I was pretty bored throughout the first half, but I absolutely loved the last third or so. That final T-Rex fight was just so perfect. From the flare callback to the mosasaurus saving the day, I honestly don't know how they could have constructed a better ending sequence. The audience we saw it with went NUTS for that.

Speaking of callbacks, overall, I thought they did a great job of incorporating the more nostalgic elements of the first movie into this one. Stumbling upon the old main visitor's center was a really nice touch, as was the flare bit. Again, I really, really dug how they used that and worked it into the climax.

I'm in complete agreement with most complaints - too may of which to name again - but overall, minus a few not-quite-fleshed-out character dynamics and some pretty bad writing, that was kind of exactly what I wanted plot/action-wise. Sure, I missed the wonder of the first movie, but once you pop that cherry, you're never getting it back. Though FAR from being a great movie, all things considered, I'll take what we got.

What on Earth did you expect? Was it fun? Yes. Was it over the top with some crap thrown in? Yes.

If you expected an Oscar winner.... Sheesh

It was an enjoyable movie that I don't feel like I wasted my time with, and they don't do movies in Singapore like they do back home.

My wife and I really enjoyed it. Tons of fun, cool dinosaurs, and a great final fight like tctts said. Chris Pratt did a good job and Jake Johnson was the unsung hero of the movie. Sure, the plot was a little flimsy, but there's really not that much of a plot in the first one either. It was a fun summer blockbuster that you just need the right attitude to see. Also, for all the clapping haters, people clapped at the end in our theatre.
