I can assure you this movie will not be rated R. There is absolutely no chance of that happening.

As for the Sheridan casting, I've never read the book, so I can't comment on whether or not he fits the mold, but I do think he's capable of surprising a lot of people.

Been a few months since I've read it, so I could remember incorrectly: I think Wade drops a few F-bombs here and there...that's the only thing I can think of that would require an R rating, and I'm sure they'd take those out or limit them to get the PG-13

Reading the book it felt like an 80's PG movie... maybe one that came out before the PG-13 rating and was a little harder than today's PG movies, but definitely not an R movie.

I understand the concerns about it being watered down though, but that applies to pretty much any novel to movie adaptation.

Only thing in the book that would push it to R would be if they went hard into the VR sex. That part is easily, though sadly, cut out without altering the story.

I just reread what I wrote, and let me be clear that if WB debuts the footage today, I doubt it'll be available to the public. All I know is that I have a friend who saw... something... it was set to be "delivered" last week... and the first words he used to describe it were, "My God." We both assumed it would debut at CinemaCon today, but not 100% certain.

Art3mis is supposed to be a little curvy, and wade should be pudgy and awkward. Those castings definitely taking away from a big part of their characters, IMO. I guess I can get over it if done right though.

Artemis I don't think really matters except for the birthmark. For Wade, they could just film it in reverse and start stuffing him with Twinkies and Oreos as time goes on.
