You the the fourth Indiana Jones movie.
So if this one is deemed to stink too, will you then go on pretending it does not exist as well?

That first spot gives me hope they will focus on the race for the keys without the whole movie being overly action heavy.

Cool trailer... wish they would quit putting so much out there and reveal so much

So is that trailer with Anorak narrating the first time THREE keys have been mentioned? It's the first time I've heard it, and it makes me feel quite a bit better about the story following the book. The only real issue I've had so far is the scene showing people running around the street with the VR headsets on.

The more I see, the more hope I have that this will be a good adaptation of the book material. I know changes had to be made, but with both Cline and Spielberg involved it should be in good hands.

Which probably means it will be terrible since that happens to movies I want to be good.

I think there will be lots of references to the 90s in the movie.

Can't just target it to 50 year old white dudes.

I'll be honest. I've never read the book and have no frame of reference for this movie. The trailer I saw yesterday ahead of Black Panther didn't really do anything for me. It just seems rather formulaic but maybe I'm wrong. I'll go see it if my son wants to see it but even he didn't really get charged up by the trailer either and he is usually all over anything like this.

For a guy with your username the book would be right up your alley.

I doubt the movie will resonate as much.

Will have to buy a copy and check it out. Thanks!

They are really going for an overall pop culture expose with an emphasis on the 80s. Watch the "what you missed" short on youtube that points out all the little nuances of the trailer.
Life's an endless party, not a punch card.

If you do audio books I highly recommend getting the audio book version. Very well done.

The audiobook is great, however I wish they would re-release it with a great voice actor.

Alamo Drafthouse is showing quite a few movies that were referenced in the book.

The Last Starfighter
Back to the Future
WarGames
Charlie and the chocolate factory
Buckaroo Banzai
The Breakfast Club
Etc

So is this movie going to contain montages of Ferris Bueller as well as Holy Grail or are they just somehow going to omit those parts? I'm not sure how they can be shoehorned in without being strange.

Charlie and the chocolate factory was a book and a terrible movie

The references are Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory

But yeah would love to see the last starfighter on the big screen again

Officially clocking in at 139 minutes, which I think is a good sign. For some reason, I was harboring a worry that they'd want to make it go shorter for a broader, younger audience.

I should have written out more. Wheaton does a fine job and I've listened to worse narrators, but after you listen to a great voice actor do a book you realize how awesome Ready Player One would have been with a great voice actor.
