Darn it, fell 5-7. She had the momentum after the second set and I thought she would take it but ...

I really wish she would have run the sip around a lot more.

But she did a lot better than her four teammates in the tournament. But that also means the other four did not do well. Darn. Looking forward to the next tournament and much better results !!

At least Mary won HER tournament!

Great tournament for Daria. I know she is disappointed to lose this one because she was right there. Lots and lots of positives to take away from this for her though. She lost to a VERY good player and that should give her confidence moving forward!

Great week for Daria. Who knows how t.u.'s lineup is going to shake out, but there's a decent chance for a rematch in the spring.

Would have loved to see this. They both have a team this year that can win the SEC / NCAAs. Can't wait.

I'm really encouraged by Daria's tournament. I think the regional system offering an auto bid is broken and not perfect, however to have who would be our 5/6 player this year nearly qualify for the NCAA singles is very encouraging! We know how good our top 4 are but our bottom 2 is still vulnerable going into this year i think. I like seeing Daria like this because of the down year she had last year.

Daria has some of the most natural strokes I've seen. We all know she can smack the ball; it's the patience and loss of focus that bites her when trying to close out matches. Seems to be improving on that side of the game. She might push Jeanette this year. I still believe Daria and Jeanette are going to be battling for number 6 in the lineup. At least currently, that's what it looks like.

Really? I think Daria has some of the most unnatural strokes i've ever seen at a high level. Her forehand is jerky and wristy. Her backhand while not as bad as her forehand does seem rushed nearly every time. I think her and Lexington are technical opposites. I think Lexington is extremely technically sound and probably a coaches dream in that regard. She gets some more experience under her belt and she will be really good.

I think for someone that started playing tennis late, she hits the ball very cleanly. (might not look pretty but her contact is solid). I think the jerky nature is probably what gets her into trouble sometimes when she's nervous.

Are you thinking Jennifer plays #5? She's keeps improving - UTR now above Jeanette and Daria and she recently beat Daria this summer 6-4, 6-1.

I'm still holding out hope we get a Spring transfer with a 10.7+ UTR. Or one of our players makes that big jump. It's where Georgia, Texas and Stanford all have an edge. Lulu at #5 changed everything.

Now that I don't know. We have so many good singles players...

We basically have 4 girls for lines 5 and 6. Lexington will be in the lineup. You have to believe Jeanette has the leg up at line 5 or 6 AND doubles with how she and Nicole performed at the end of last season. After that, man, Mark has a lot to figure out. Not a horrible problem to have.

I was really hoping that Mia playing doubles with Arian Arseneault so much over the summer and early fall meant she might be transferring to us. HAHAHA. It's more than likely because they are both Canadians, but that would have been cool!

I'm not so sure Lexington is a guarantee to be in the lineup! That's a veteran team. I think Jennifer has a better shot than Lexington

Ariana is out of eligibility. I would think there would be a slight possibility if she wasn't but there's no possible way for her to play anywhere

Anyone know the approximate times Carson and Mia will play in Calgary today? I think it will be late morning or early afternoon.

I see Carson and Mateas will pair up in doubles vs Cadence Brace/Jamie Loeb - I hope I get to see their matches because I like to watch both of them!

Carson is playing singles now and will play doubles at around 3:30 pm on the same court.

Mia is playing singles, but not playing doubles afterall. Arsenault's singles result from yesterday shows a walkover.

Fair point! After watching Lexington, she needs some time to get stronger and adjust. She will be very good, but seems like she's #7 in the lineup(from my perspective). Even watching doubles, she struggled and hesitated(which I completely expect from a freshmen in her first semester).

I absolutely think she will find her stride, but if the lineup came out today, that would be my guess

Texas finishes 1-2-3 in the ITA regional.

The girl that Daria almost beat yesterday wins the tournament, and the girl she lost to today played line 6 for tu last season. Just really feel results cannot be this inconsistent at this level.

Four auburn players were in their regional semis. Ava is the only one of those that hasn't qualified for NCAA's in singles. She did win their doubles regional and will play in Waco for that.
