I can testify personally that I became an F1 fan in 2020 because they were essentially the first sport to come back after the pandemic and I was so sports-starved. Very happy I found this sport.

The pandemic did a lot to help give Formula 1 a boost that they still benefit from to this day. People were starving for new sports content in those early
months. "The Last Dance" was a massive offering to the sports world at that time that opened eyes to F1 when Drive to Survive saw a boost in streaming as well.

When racing returned in June, the live races gave the sports enthusiasts something to watch.

Before Liberty Media their online presence was hilariously bad. There was nothing. When they created their Youtube channel and started uploading race highlights I was shocked. Netflix made the biggest impact for sure tho, but the pandemic was the big mover for it. 2019 the sport still wasn't as huge in the US as it was in 2021.

Netflix brought me back to the sport. When I was a kid my dad and I watched a ton of F1 all the way till about 2000. As I started college, I lost track of things and eventually stopped following it. Drive to survive did such a good job introducing all the new faces since most of the ones I recognized were gone.

Probably a placeholder until they have a junior they really like. Helmut gave an interview yesterday saying they aren't looking for the next Max Verstappen but their next WDC, and he mentioned that person being Arvid Lindblad. Supposedly Horner is sold on him too so I wouldn't be shocked if we see him in RBs in 2027 unless his F2 season next year is really good but with Campos you never know

Interesting, looks like ESPN F1 deleted the tweet and replaced it with one saying his departure will be confirmed before Christmas

I wonder if Yuki's outburst and temper may hold him back from the seat? Could only get worse with added pressure from Red Bull seat. Would be interesting team dynamic with Max.

I don't personally believe Yuki is better than Lawson/deserves a Red Bull seat. He's immature and doesn't really have any F1 results to brag about.

Supposedly Papa Sainz and Papa Verstappen had a contentious relationship in the garage back when the kids were teammates.

I wonder if they were concerned with the potential of Sainz being closer to Verstappen and not as subservant as Perez has been.

So I guess Yuki has one more year in the RedBull ethos. I wonder how much money/funnymoney Honda contributes to RedBull and Yuki. With Honda switching to AM for 2026, that pot of money goes away.

I have no like/dislike for Lawson but I hope he is not the next victim of the Max domination.

decided to skip Miami and do China instead as I just purchased my ticket today lol, so only 3 months until my next GP. no F2 or F3 there but F1 Academy is starting the season there

China is a blast and a great circuit. Was my first F1 in person so always has a special place.

Could be a future US prospect here. Was in Abu Dhabi doing the F4 trophy rounds, I believe he got his first win the weekend after. Making the move from the America series to Europe with Prema.
