I suspected but pro 800 runner and tu grad Kendra Chambers has been training for a while at A&M. Joined in March, maybe she'll be a grad assistant for us next year!

Laila Owens is officially gone.
It really pains to see that there hasn't been any stability in the sprints, hurdles and to some extent the program since the departure of coach Anderson.

We have lost basically all our sprinters.
It's sad because we have a good recruiting class coming in and now this.
This is definitely going impact recruiting and the present recruits as well. Just wondering if any of the recruits may decommit and go elsewhere.
Seeing the program go through this is really hard especially coming off a 2nd place and then a 4th place at Outdoor NCAA in the last two years.

Florida got a HJ from southern Miss - 7'6"". They are killing it.
Technically, by state law we can't arrange NIL. What we can do is let them know of opportunities that are out there. Additionally, compliance is supposed to review the NIL deals.Bucketrunner said:

This is infuriating if true. If he's not on board he needs to be let go and get someone who will. We've pumped millions into a program that's not even elite anymore…on top of that we finished 25th in Directors cup…Aggie sports are not in good shape over all…
FWIW, track isn't the reason we are 25th...their finishes were 5, 10, 4, and 25 this season.
Cross country hurts us but that's nothing different than any other year when we've been ranked much higher in the director's cup.

The biggest point difference in the Director's Cup is coming from women's basketball, softball and women's swimming.

She improved so much in the 400m hurdles (low 57 seconds) in her freshman year but struggled with injuries and lack of confidence in her second year and decided to transfer. Lets see how she goes under coach Carol Smith Gilbert.
We are yet to see any notable transfer in to the program. Badal left so long ago and we yet to see a replacement. I guess in the coming weeks we shall see.

Wow that is a horrible fit for her! I too followed her YouTube channel before it became unbearable and she made it seem like everything was so hard. Smith Gilbert is a DEMANDING coach, she is one of the toughest coaches out there. Mustin will struggle with her Smith Gilbert's coaching style… I think she has a sister in Atlanta, but figured she needed to be closer to her family in Arizona

Those are huge pickups for Arkansas, that puts them in the running at the national level just like that…

We built him a Mecca that's what he was rewarded with for his NCs ages ago…now he's mediocre so yes he owes us another NC because that's what we are paying him for…this isn't a retirement community.
There is a difference between zeal and misguided frustration. There is also a difference between fruitless hotheadedness and nonconstructive ruminations. Perhaps you missed the comment pointing to Henry is not allowed to initiate NIL deals as a recruiting incentive. That is a violation of NCAA and state laws. Yes the school is pumping millions into the sport but honestly it doesn't change the bottom line recruiting MO whether Henry is for or against NIL. You have every right to be opposed to any coach whether the reasons are factually based or not. First you won't find more than 3 schools who can boast as A&M to having had top level recruiting classes and top 5 finishes in the last three years. To call this program irrelevant ( whatever word you used) is grossly exaggerated. We have accomplished these feats without any sprinting prowess or continuity. That is a testament to Coach Henry. As a fan or financial supporters we have a right to be perturbed but let's not get carried away. You have the right though. Further calling for his removal may be your solution or sentiment and that is your right but a better progressive solution would be to initiate forming your own collective and inquiring within the compliance office how you may go about legally making resources available for "identified" signers and not receuits. A&M has no intention of provoking the infractions committee. Florida has a well structured COLLECTIVES MACHINE and you would do well to become a sound voice for favorable change... or you have the right to sound off as you are doing. There is nothing wrong with your opinions but perhaps framing them with consideration may prove more fortuitous. I appreciate your passionate zeal however

The success A&M had was unparalleled. No one has ever 3 peated and to have had it done on both men's and women's sides was astounding. These are new times we are in. The sprinters we had back then would have been avg today. You have women being left out of the 100m finals bc they didn't run sub 11.1. Unheard of the new boundaries both genders are pushing. High schoolers running sub 2:00 over 800. Many are comparing our success to the superman prg of that day - TAMU. If you thought any school should have continued on that type of dominance ... nope. Appreciate it for what it was in that age. Even the 3peat Chicago Bulls 2x was not a standard for normalcy but were preeminent dominant team and that was short lived. Has our program declined in being the super dominant superman? Yes but that is not decline. Have we slid in sprints? Yes. Have we become dominant in mid distance? Yes. Have the men' jumps taken a hit since Will Williams left? Yes . TAHAR would've meldaled had he stayed during the fall but it has been about 3-4 years of not having a jumps champion. Have our men's PV and HJ depth improved? Yes and still is. Women's side HJ jump never been better as quality depth is present. This is still a dominant program but if sprints is not addressed others will blow past us leaving us in obscurity. NIL must be addressed else decline knocks. This is the truth and not the spoiled truth.

Clearly, we need some change in the distance department having scored probably just once in the last 15 years. We need a coaching change or better recruits. I don't believe we cannot find just one athlete who can score in the distance events or steeplechase.
Throws have been up and down over the years.
No scoring in short sprint and hurdles for several years until Kaylah Robinson this year. We haven't scored in the 100m or 200m since 2017
Long Sprints/Hurdles have been contribution significant points in later years.
Mid Distance have gotten better in later years but only in the 800m. We still cannot find scoring in the 1500m
Jumps/ Multis have been the biggest contributor in recent years mainly due to Tyra Gittens, Deborah Acquah and Lamara Distin.
Coach Brady took over for Coach Grimes in 2017.
