It baffles me why so many top college athletes many with Olympic experience did not go pro after last season. Why are some of these still competing in the NCAA?

Julien Alfred
Briton Wilson
Talitha Diggs
Jasmine Moore and others

I guess NIL might be one reason for keeping track athletes in the NCAA.

It is insane to see the amount of Olympic talent in an "amateur" level of competition! I don't know how these girls can stay and risk losing the money on a big contract for example that an injury might cause them or a poor season! God forbid Jasmine Moore hurts herself jumping and loses money or any of Texas sprinters over work themselves like Floreal tends to do… I don't get it! Imagine if we still had Athing Mu and Charokee Young on our roster or Brandon Miller! I understand NIL can alleviate that pressure but still why risk it! Look at Tyra for example, after 2021 she could have had a bigger pro contract but wasn't as marketable after this past season and shortcomings at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games! These are two methods of recruiting, run here and get your pro contract or compete at this level for 4/5 and run 4-6 times as many meets and hope you still can get that contract…

But seeing some of these names on rosters and you think to yourself *********they've been in college for 10 years! It's just crazy!

All that said, thank you for coming back Lamara Distin! We love you <3, you made the right choice the people at other schools didn't!

Florida's main collective is run by a very weathly business man who loves their school. He had an agenda to take Florida to the top. He is making his company's brand profit from such dealings. Their lawyers are abreast of the how to, do s and don't of NIL.. I saw a interview on it last year on TV and their structure and model was well thought out and designed to put the Gators on top. They have done so well in keeping and luring athletes their and they are making money across the board in other sports that most institutions have not tapped into yet. They are one of the premiere institutions who are well above the curve with marketing and executing contracts to prospectives. It may be awhile before most universities catch up. A&M needs a concerted effort beyond football.

Literally my goal when I'm older and richer! I'm almost done with my schooling and will have plenty and plenty of years of work to go but just wait! When I get an NIL going I'll get the best runners in the world to join Fred Kerley Jr and Bryce Deadmon Jr on a mile relay

Also Amaris Tyynisma of Alabama born and raised transferring to NC State is insane! Those Wolfpack girls can have 5 girls in the top 15/20 of cross country nationals

They may be a threat to score championship podium points from their distance crew alone. Loaded!

Absolutely if they can spread them out and score in the 1500, 5000, 10000, steeple, and possibly the 800 and if it's a tough battle in the sprints and jumps then they can! Indoors they have the DMR, 1600, 3000, 5000! However Tyynisma can't compete indoors because she ran in December for Bama!
AggieSwim16

That's wild! Why would she have run for Bama if she was planning to transfer?! I feel like there's a story there!!
taylorswift13

Actually her coach just left to take the distance job at Florida!!! After he recruited so many girls to Bama and had much more shcolarship money and resources to a distance program there! So Tynnisma left, just crazy how NC State is attracting all these girls who could be 1's at other schools!

Hey@Taylor
Would you enter 8 legitimate guys in the 400m at SECs? All with potential of running 46 plus or faster
Auhmad Robinson
DeMarco Escobar
Omajuwa Etiwe
Chevannie Hanson
Eric Hemphill III
Ashton Schwartzman
James Smith
Cutler Zamzow

Maybe we can look to see who can drop down to the 200m indoors to see if we can get some points there. Auhmad Robinson probably have the best 200m time of all guys.

As far as the 4x400m women line up, I would also try the combination of Jania Martin, Tierra Robinson-Jones, Kennedy Wade and Jermaisha Arnold. We don't have Charokee Young or Mu anymore so I would consider the best 200m runner to start with the hope of getting an early lead which would make the other runners work harder to pass on the outside. Jania is our fastest 200m runner on the relay team.

I agree on all that! We have the depth on the men's side but are lacking production in the 60 and 200! If only Achane or Broome had stayed but I'm not sure if Robinson or maybe Hanson can score in the 200! We need them to work on both! But I do love our 400 depth! We need to score as much as we can there, hopefully get 3 or 4 guys to qualify! I'm excited if they start running the open 400 this weekend to see where they stand! And the girls for once in a long time don't have the depth they've always had! Jania needs to start! I'm just surprised Tierra looked the way she did! But Jermaisha splitting that 51.9 her first race is really encouraging!! Now if Jania and Tierra can get under 52 we will be okay! Kennedy can run stronger also!

First Indoor ranking

Women - 12th
Men - Unranked

Texas women is ranked #1. Flo brought back all his professional athletes to win a championship which he promised when he took over the coaching job

What's worse is that our men's 4x400 isn't even in a position to qualify to nationals right now as it sits in 13th, if we don't get it together what an embarrassment that will be. I'm sure we can drop our time, but others can too, almost in front of us have only ran it once. Bamidele and Florida's relay is going to be scary together

There are two meets on the track schedule for this weekend the Arkansas qualifier and Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invitational.
I guess these meets were schedule to decide the final roster for the SEC championship
So far we have no entries in Arkansas qualifier.

I would've hoped we would allowed the people on the bubble like Connor Schulman, Zach Davis, Semira Killwbrew, Joniar Thomas, Heather Abadie, or Tierra Robinson-Jones could have benefited from improving their marks! Instead of having one shot at conference!

Nice to see Devin Dixon win his heat in the 800, taking down Clayton Murphy! 1:47.27! The dudes a warrior and won so many races for us! Hate the way he went out but he has the talent and work ethic to get back to being elite! Hopefully this is the first step! Him and Sammy Watson advance to the indoor national finals!
