I will not be surprised if Stanford takes out OU next weekend.
I'm going to keep an eye on that Tennessee vs NC state match tomorrow. Tennessee is dangerous.

The Baylor coaches seemed to be out on the court talking to their players before every serve in doubles play. The coach at #3 doubles had a white board with the outline of a tennis court on it.

They've been notorious for having clipboards and dry erase boards for years
Pielet is a serious liability at 5 if we want to win the NC. Her backhand maybe the worst backhand I've ever seen in collegiate tennis, but I am confident given her work ethic she can fix it. I hope she outlasts her opponents. Weird form..on forehand too, she'll have to grind.
Looking at her freshmen season vs Tati freshmen season, Pilet is doing pretty well. Does she have some unorthodox form, sure. But Tati laid out the plan for success. Weaver can develop players. I am not concerned. She's had a decent season
When G bowed to the stands in overtime was one of my favorite parts of the match yesterday.
I think Pielet is more mental than anything. The difference between Pielet and Tati is significant in terms of form and confidence. Pielet may end up being a doubles specialist. However, if she can develop her mental game she may overcome this freshman slump. Mark did mention he has some pretty special athletes coming in. Making the singles line up next season might not be a guarantee. My hope is that Pielet gets a solid, season defining singles win during the NCAAs.

She also plays about as hard as any player in the country. I'll take that over form about any day of the week.

The difference between freshmen Tati and freshmen Gianna might surprise you. Gianna is 16-8 on the season, Tati was 5-10. They have different strengths and weaknesses. Gianna is a big serve and puts the ball away quickly. Tati is more of an all court player that can put last anyone physically.

Will it be necessary to purchase tickets in advance to get seating? If so, do we purchase them through 12thMan.com?
This past weekend there was plenty of space.
Vanderbilt is up 3-2 with both deciding matches in the 3rd set. Vanderbilt is up a break in each set from what I can tell.
I think that 16-8 record is deceiving. Many of her matches were stopped when she was well behind bc we had already closed out the match. I can think of 4-5 off the top of my head. Tati also played many of her matches at line 4, and many at 5. She also played line 2 doubles and not line 3. I do agree with you, though. Coach knows what he's doing and she has loads of potential, but overall I think Tati has always had the most potential.

Yes. We beat them 6-1 during the season and 4-2 in the SEC tournament.
Pielet lost both matches in the two we played against them. Townsend split the matches (won the first, lost the second). Looks like Vandy flipped their 5 and 6 which was the difference in the 2 matches we played against them.
Florida ladies into the sweet 16 as well! So far Texas A&M, Florida, Vanderbilt, and Auburn all in the sweet 16. Tennessee and Georgia still playing to advance as well. And the stupid cracked racquets guy said the SEC wasn't good at tennis. right now a quarter of teams in the sweet 16 are from the SEC and possibly 6 out of the 16.

We had a relatively easy draw to get to the round of 16. I think. FSU's RPI was only 35, but that whole distance thing worked for us for once.

North Carolina State advanced over Tennessee 4-1. Looks like it's could have been a 4-3 match.
I can see that. I'm not comparing doubles too much, that will always take time at this level. Rarely is someone going to step in and become a top 10 team. Took Jayci and Tati 3 years to earn their respect.
