I am reading that Perelli and FIA didnt know there was going to be kerbs added this weekend. I am a huge fan of 'something' to slow down the drivers if they 'exceed track limits'.. however these things are intense!
The kerbs they had at Cota literally broke the back of a driver in F4 and a driver in the W series.
Both incidents happened in Turn 1 where we were sitting. Terrible.

The intensity of the voices during a race is one of the best things. This is the only live sporting event where you can hear the 'players' (drives in this case) in real time.

I read an article the other day about how Mazepin's dad was going to offer employees an incentive bonus for staying with the team. Apparently there have been quite a few folks leave Haas for other racing teams. I will try to find the link.
I think it will depend on what the team is able to do with Mazepin's money and the new regs starting next year. They said last season, or early this season, they were not going to do much of any development on this year's car and focus on the next year's car.
I would imagine that Gene will sell the team if they still suck and are way off the pace like they are this year. If they are showing improvements, but still at the bottom of the pack, and so long as Mazepin is backing the team, they could be around for a few years. Or Dmitry just buys the team to keep funding Nik's hobby.

Haas doesn't want to be in F1. He told Gunter last season he was prepared to shut the team down if things didn't improve (hell, I think it was shown on Drive to Survive when he said it). Then Mazapin shows up this season. I'm betting Haas is out in the next 2 years.
It made a lot of sense for Haas to chalk this year to focus on next year. They would have been stuck with much of the Ferrari 2020 car that was a complete dog, which wasn't worth the effort to develop. I think they made the right move for their future, but I'd suspect Mazepin just buys the team outright anyway. (Perhaps with William Story to keep that drama going).

Were you already planning to be awake at 4am? Unless you are hunting, fishing, or working at that time what else would you do?
Busy morning with work, appointment followed by kids basketball followed by "early Christmas" with my parents. Going to be hard to find time to just watch recorded qualifying much less P3.
I always watch qualy, even if it's only the last 2 minutes of each session. Often the last 2 minutes of q3 is the most exciting racing of the year.
