I read an article that hypothesized the ICE Lewis took before Brazil was tuned for high performance at the expense of wear, knowing it should make it to the end of the season.

Also, engine degradation has been a problem for Mercedes all season. Sounds like they found a way to make the best out of the situation knowing they were going to have to take another engine penalty to keep Lewis competitive.

He could take another one for the next race too and still be 1st or 2nd by 20 laps in.

Yep. And I wouldn't be surprised if they did put in another ICE knowing he should be able to easily get to the front after the 5 place grid penalty.

What a **** race really.

Don't understand how the FIA doesn't have a curb spec for the tracks to follow but I guess without that today we wouldn't have had anything to talk about during the race.

True. And of course the George promotion is exciting. But just thinking through this year. There are things that have happened to Boatass that were 100% outside his control.

I think raising the total power unit limit by 1 and making any change a move to the rear of the grid could be a good solution going forward. 5 places for a partial unit is too cheap of a penalty

Looks like adding 1 to the limit for everything would mean no one but Merc would have a penalty so far this year.

Also keeping the partial replacement penalty as 10 everytime not 10 grid spots the first overage and 5 after that could also be a fix. But 5 spots isn't enough penalty.
