Nice! How were you hunting? Stand and feeder or did rut activity play in to it?

I have feeders set up but I'm just growing corn this year. I haven't seen anything go to the feeder. Everything we have seen has been just passing by.

This morning I saw a group of 8-10 deer about 450 yds away and could tell a couple were bucks. I could tell they weren't coming my way so I tried to rattle. I've only tried just a few other times before with no luck. Immediately after I rattled 3 deer made a bee line towards me I shot this one right at 100 yds.

It's not the biggest deer but it's pretty special since it's the first time I've rattled a deer in.

Just a doe but I wanted to post because this doe an I had quite the relationship this year. She was the classic doe that shows up every hunt and never eats a thing but stands guard and keeps all of the other deer on high alert. She had my number all season. finally got her yesterday.

Also, probably my last kill with my 11 year old Fred Bear. Moving up and upgrading in a couple weeks.

what caliber M77 is that? Classic rifle. My dad's hunted with one (30-'06) for as long as I can remember.

It's a 7 mag. I grew up with my dad using the older version of the m77 in 7mag.

"That Doe" can be a pain the rear. I have one that I've let live for 3 years because she produces twins every year but she is always on high alert and can ruin a hunt in a moments notice.

Great job!

We've had these two big axis buck that have stayed on our lease for the past 5 years. Been shot at twice, but never taken. And of course, the brand new guy on the lease gets the big daddy.

New guy luck. Biggest whitetail and axis on our place were shot by a new guy on his first year.

Webb County. Some pretty solid mass for a young deer. Lots of potential!!

He'd be down if I was locked in on that one

I named the Snort on our property "Lucky" about 5 years ago because I wasn't shooting bucks that year and he was way too young. He took a dirt nap this year. Ironically, it was the first year he hadn't snorted at me at least once.

I got yelled at here a few years ago for calling them b***hes, so I'm trying to be a better person.

Just got back from a productive several days at the lease. Weather was great and alot of deer were moving. Saw 15-20 deer per hunt but couldn't manage to get on a big boy though. However, there is one less piggy in Webb Co.

Had a couple nice visitors on December 16th to the new Lamco 600 lb low-and-throw feeder.

Kind of interesting tidbit on this young deer. He's obviously very unique with his funky brow tines and split on the top of his right G2. I saw him at my stand yesterday evening and then another stand over 1.5 miles away that I was hunting this morning. They are chasing the poon hard!

Hard to beat a good South Texas sunrise!

Nice Pics!

Did you take the varmint cage off the Lamco?

One of the benefits to the Lamco is that no varmit cage needed. It's hard to tell from the pics but the spinner plate sits between two large plates that are probably 20" in diameter. No critters or birds can get to the spinner plate since the plates are only about 1" apart. It's a great design.

that must be only for the 600 pound Lamco. my 300 pound has a huge varmit cage.
