you can have very talented players and be a mediocre team. This is a team that had a nice 3-4 week run. Outside they've been pretty mediocre.



Inconsistent maybe I'll give you but 18 wins in the SEC fighting for a top 8 seed is not mediocre.


We were a weird team. I think we were much more mediocre than our resume would have suggested. It's why I still believe we earned a top 8 seed even though I expected to lose this regional.

Powell has looked consistently, and significantly, better than Hubert to me this season. Not quite sure why the staff seems to be in love with Hubert.

We must have a different definition of mediocre Mediocre teams do not finish 3rd in the SEC. Mediocre teams do not host regionals. Not saying you shouldn't have high expectations but when teams fail to meet very high expectations it does not make them mediocre.


The problem is that they finished mediocre which is all that counts. Lost 2/3 of their last series, 0-1 in the SEC tourney and lost twice in a row against the only P4 team in your regional.

Going 4-5 against teams that will make the Supers is not bad. Disappointing considering what could have been but considering the injuries and our pen 4-5 is pretty respectable.

We went from flame out to picked damn near last in the conference to third and hosting, but not trending the right way?

Schloss, ****** though he is, is an all time great baseball coach as evidenced by every team he has coached.

Earley is probably not at his level, but few are. He will get at least one more season, probably his most challenging one yet with the roster shuffle. We will see

Hubert sucks

Powell should've started last night just makes you realize they think Hubert is better than Powell.

Yep and I plan to keep it that way with no tags or badges for that very reason. I'll leave it simply as some deep family baseball relationships. Again, not really concerned if anyone doesn't want to believe me or not. I like KR, but that isn't the first time he's shared inaccurate information. I don't think he does so dishonestly though.

Were we pretty much down to where Earley was the option left? Pretty much. Still don't think he was basically a terrible hire. I think his hire of JK bc he was comfortable with him was his mistake and will cost him his job next year.

At least we aren't Georgia Tech. Talking to their fans, they legitimately felt like this a championship team. And they get bounced as the 2-0 team as a #2 national seed. Absolutely brutal

Earley does not seem to be able to get anything out of our team when it matters, pull any of the right levers when they are scuffling, or really do much of anything except when the bats happen to be red hot. We look great in April when the hitters are feeling good, but as soon as the pitchers really lock in during the tournaments, we are out classed.

Honestly Powell offers much moreupside over Sdao. So not sure why the last 2 weeks of the season we didnt give him more of a chance. With this pitching staff, I'd take a little more of the unknown over the known.

The boasting about how we did better than forecast is just a bit funny too considering they were predicting us using how Earley fell short in his first year

The Sims injury ended any chance of a deep run, but would've been nice to roll the dice next weekend at least. Need to get some pitching in the portal and hope Wilson, Kellner, Partida take the next step

It sucks that we are back to "managing our expectations".
